Happy Thursday!!! Yay, it’s almost the weekend!! It’s time for “Currently, December”- giving you some insight to the recent Happenings in the Mock house!

Reading: I am still on the wait list at the Library for Sophie Kinsella’s new Shopaholic! I finally jumped on the bandwagon though and am devouring Gone Girl, by: Gillian Flynn! I am 3/4 through and OMG all these twists and turns!!! I have so much trouble putting it down at night!! Hopefully I will get to enjoy the movie in theatres when I am done, otherwise, I’ll have to redbox it!

Watching: Almost done binging on Gilmore Girls via Netflix, and happily awaiting Friends appearance! (even though I have all 10 seasons on DVD) Mostly I have been just enjoying all the Christmas specials!!! What’s your fave?

Working on: Everything Christmas!Making my Lists, checking them twice, shopping, decorating! So much left to do! Being sick has really dragged me down! 

Looking Forward to: Getting to see some dear friends next weekend and also Christopher’s Houston Family, for their Mock Christmas Celebration! We also have Hallie’s Baptism! Next weekend is totally jam packed!!!  And of course Christmas here at the end of the month! Hallie’s first Christmas! So exciting! She already loves the lights and the blinky ornaments on our tree!!!

Loving: How mobile and expressive Hallie is becoming!!! Laughing and scooting all over the place!! She just melts my heart!!! 

Hello all! How is the decorating, baking, wrapping and prepping for Christmas going on your end?! 
I have to say I still have SO much to do! Normally by now I have the house completely decked out and at least 1/2 of our presents bought, wrapped and carefully placed beneath our tree! This year, with Hallie it is a whole new ball game! She keeps me so busy! On top of that, I have a cold that just will not go away! 


Fortunately I did have time to make some Babies First Christmas Ornaments with her yesterday!

 weekend,  It was the perfect time to Participate! 

Four names that people call me, other than my real name

• Kel- though very few people can get away with this                                                                                without me cringing
• Bell- Childhood nickname, sometimes my parents still                                                                                   use it
• Babe- it’s usually Christopher’s go to term of                                                                                                 endearment 
• Momma- What he refers to me as near Hallie

Four jobs that I have had:

• Framing Specialist at Joann Fabrics- My first job                                                                                             ever. Though I quit after a pretty nasty injury to                                                                                           my finger. I worked with glass and blades, use                                                                                                  your imagination… 
• Story Lady at Barnes and Noble- I actually really                                                                                          liked this job and made a lot of friends working                                                                                          there! I also got invited to kids birthday parties,                                                                                              which might be the sweetest thing ever!
• Preschool teacher- I taught 2’s and 3’s! I actually still keep                                                                              in touch with a lot of the                                                                                                                          families and kids…they are all like 11 and 12 now! 
• Nanny- I have met some great families doing this and am                                                                            so lucky to still work with such a great family! I have                                                                                  known these girls since the oldest was 2 (she is now 11!) 

Four movies I have watched more than once:

Just 4!?

• When Harry Met Sally- It will forever be a favorite of                                                                                      mine that I can watch whenever, wherever! “Is one of                                                                                 us supposed to be a dog in this scenario?!” I love                                                                                             Nora Ephron!
• Center Stage- Kinda cheesy, yes, but it makes me go                                                                                      back to my dancing days! Ahh!”Careful with that one,                                                                              you break it, you bought it!”
• It’s a Wonderful Life- I love this one! It was one of my                                                                                 Nana’s faves too! It was also how I announced my                                                                          pregnancy almost a year ago! I put up a picture of the                                                                             sonogram with the tagline “Christopher Mock lasso stork!”
• While You Were Sleeping- I just love the feel of this movie!                                                                          Plus Sandy B is one of my faves!

Four places I have lived:

• Albuquerque New Mexico- though I don’t remember it                                                                                   (ages I think 6 months-3..)
• El Paso Tx- From 3-7
• Plano/ Dallas Tx- The majority of my life since birth
• Houston area- For a year in my early 20’s…I missed                                                                                        home too much!

Four places I have been:

• I’ll start with coolest! London England- Honeymoon!
• San Francisco CA- My favorite city EVER!
• Sanibel Island Florida- Family Vacay as a kid
• New Orleans LA- Several times! Christopher has                                                                                            family in the area!

Four places I would rather be right now:

• London
• San Fran
• Visiting a new fun place
• Somewhere cold and snowy and actually Christmasy!

Four things I won’t eat:

• Beef
• Things that live in the water. No, never, not on my life.                                                                                   (I am with you Beth on this one!)
• Pork
• Any other weird meat…rabbit, duck, bison….etc…

• Pasta!
• Cheese
• Bread…why yes, I am Italian!
• Cookies

• Pretty Little Liars…I know I am a 12 year old!

Four things that I am looking forward to this year:

• CHRISTMAS! So much fun!
• Hallie’s birthday…and also not…I wish I could                                                                                                 keep her a baby forever! 
• Already scouring the internet for a cute costume                                                                                              Mommy and daughter duo for Halloween…lol 
• Losing the rest of my baby weight!

One of my absolute favorite things about Thanksgiving, is a tradition my sister and I started several years back.  The night before Thanksgiving, we hold a Friendsgiving Marathon! It started as just the 2 of us and has grown through the years to include our cousins, friends, my husband and now this year, Hallie!


So here is your guide to hosting your own Friendsgiving! 


1. Order a ton of food! This year we are going with Chinese! 


2. Gather Seasons 1 and 3-10 of Friends! (I KNOW! No season 2 episode!)

5 months?! Woah slow down kiddo! It’s going way to fast! Let me stop and hold you a little longer! Soon you will be crawling away from Mommy and be too busy to give me snuggles! 

• Age- 5 months!
• Weight-  11 lb. 2 oz! A whole pound in a month…yet still not on the curve for weight! 
• Length- 23 1/2 inches! She is a long skinny girl!
• Size- I pulled out the size 1 diapers, but I am thinking of getting more Newborn ones…these 1’s are HUGE on her! She doesn’t leak or anything, they are just super big and puffy and kind of look ridiculous!  Onesies- We had a moment a week or so ago when the newborn onesies wouldn’t snap on the bottom…probably when she grew that extra 1/2 inch in length. The size 3 onesies are still big, but the Tshirts fit great! So she is either wearing those or the really big onesies with pants so that you can’t see the extra flap at the bottom! lol  Pants- 3 month (mostly) again needing them for length. Some fit great, some are huge! PJs 0-3 or 3 month for length! This girl! Skinny mini! She is soo long!
• Eyes- Still blue! Fingers are totally crossed they stay blue! Other Moms…when did your babies eyes change color?
• Hair- Brown, but seems to be getting lighter. She also has her Daddy’s cowlick!
• Sleeping- 10-12 hour stretches at night! (Generally 7pm to 6 or 7 am) Usually takes 3 small naps during the day! 
• Eating- Still every 3 hours (aside from at night!) She gets 4 oz at each feeding except the first and the last feeding of the day when she’ll take 5-6 oz. We tried rice cereal…she hated it! We are going to try oatmeal soon! 
• Milestones- Still rolling every now and then, but she would rather try to figure out crawling! She scoots backwards and then gets mad because she is moving away from her toys instead of closer to them! She is getting really good at practicing sitting! Loves to stand and will even try and hold herself up on the ottoman, which is her new favorite thing to do!! Still babbling a ton! Still drooling and teething! Loves to shove anything in her mouth! Especially hands…not always her own and Daddy’s nose!
• Memorable outings- Storyime/playgroup, Pumpkin Patch, Halloween/Trick or Treat, and Visiting Houston again!
• Favorite toys/activities- Still loves ceiling fans and mirrors! Loves her turtle which we have named Dewy! Also Hello Kitty Blocks, Owl rattle, Dolly, rings, Firefly, Very Hungry Caterpillar, Her new dolly from friend Mira, etc.  Loves books! A girl after my own heart! We read before bed every night! Also loves the rhymes we do at story time! Particularly (Tick Tock, Horse named Ron and Patty Cake!) Loves to play with Stella.  DANCING! She loves to shake it! Especially with Daddy! She also really enjoys watching football and listening to music! 

• Words/sounds- Imitating sounds a little. Has started saying “Ooh Ooh” to herself usually in the mirror or sometimes to her BFF the ceiling fan!
• Nicknames- I call her sweet pea, peanut, peanut butter, sweet girl or Hal…Daddy likes to call her Daniel son when I put headbands on her…but other than that sticks to a generic sweetie or cutie!
• Funny moments- Sticking out tongue or mouth WIDE open! She also loves to grab our hands and stick them in her mouth! I also loved the video I got of her practicing standing holding the ottoman!
• Looking forward to- Each and every moment! We are decorating for Christmas tonight (the weekend got away from us too fast!) and I can’t wait to see her face when she sees the lights and ornaments!
