One Month Old!
Hallie is officially one month old! (Actually 5 weeks and counting!)
We are finally out of our preemie clothes! Granted not a ton of our newborn clothes are fitting just yet. Many of the onesies are still too big, but we have found that the Carters brand onesies and outfits fit great! So do the Koala Baby clothes from Babies R Us Actually Hallie is quite the little fashionista!
This one is one of our favorites and it is on sale now here.
And this one, available here
Pants available here
Hallie is sleeping longer and eating more! My guess is she is about 6.5-7 lbs now! She is super skinny and long which is why she doesn’t quite fill out a lot of the newborn onesies. Will update on weight when we go back to the pediatrician next month!
I am enjoying watching her grow every day! We are practicing our smiles and our big eyes are getting more blue every day!! She is also starting to follow objects and grasp at different things!
Will continue to update as she grows and changes!
Until then, Happy Monday!
Miss Hallie Anne
I have never been more in love in my entire life! Hallie Anne Mock came into our lives on Saturday June 21st at 12:15 p.m. weighing in at a whopping 4 lb 15 oz and measuring 17 1/2 inches long, and life has been perfect ever since.
Now, our story about how she got here…that’s a little crazy!
Friday the 20th, I leave work early hoping to grab something quick to eat on my way to meet Christopher (on his lunch break) for our scheduled sonogram. Unfortunately traffic made me skip lunch and get to our sono just in time.
The tech took us back to look at the baby’s heart which had measured a bit big on our last visit the week before. The heart though measuring just fine still appeared larger and our stubborn little Hallie refused to practice her breathing while we watched her for 30 minutes!
Finally we go to see the Dr. who informed us that with those two things and the fact that she seemed not to be growing much inside me anymore, that she would rather see her from the outside than the inside and sent us upstairs to labor and delivery to prep me for a C-section.
So many things were going through my head! I was panicked! I didn’t have my hospital bag, Christopher was still on the clock at work, I still had 3 weeks left with my girls before maternity leave, who was going to take care of Stella, Hallie’s room wasn’t even close to finished, my house was a wreck….
Christopher and I made a few calls to our bosses, our parents, and to Joyce who was kind enough to take care of the dog and bring up my hospital bag.
Once we got upstairs the Dr. asked how we felt about this emergency C-section and we both told her that we would rather have a natural birth if we could do it safely! She agreed to watch the baby on a heart monitor for a few hours and if all looked good, we could have her naturally. Unfortunately this meant that I had to wait to eat! By this point it was nearing dinner time and I still hadn’t had lunch!
Around 7 pm I was cleared to try and have Hallie naturally and was allowed to order my last meal! After dinner, they gave me a drug to speed things along overnight! Heavy contractions started around 1 am and
finally in the morning around 6 a.m. I was able to get the Pitocin and an epidural!
6 hours later our baby girl arrived with a full head of hair and the most beautiful little face I have ever seen!
Now 2 weeks later our tiny princess is 5 lbs 7.5 oz and ALMOST out of her preemie clothes! We are in this weird limbo stage because she is so long, so her preemie PJ’s are getting snug, but her newborn ones still swim on her! Aside from that, we are all doing great! Hallie is a great sleeper and a very happy baby!
Can’t wait to watch her change and grow! I am loving mommy life!
