In case you don’t remember, my mom’s birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and that was one of the main reason’s we went to the beach as a family.  My Dad however, was not done surprising her! He contacted a bunch of her friends, her sister, my sisters and myself and organized a surprise Lunch this weekend at Elke’s, her favorite cafe in town. My Aunt Frances (one of my mom’s very best friends)  brought my Mom, who thought they were just having lunch the two of them.
Elke prepared a nice meal of her best dishes as well as birthday cupcakes of our choice! It was a lovely meal, and the VERY first time my Dad has ever been able to pull off a surprise for my mom, EVER!

Happy Friday all! Today we had a great day! We went to the library and lunch with our friends, Hallie “helped” her Pop at his T-shirt shop, and we even made time for an impromptu Fall “photo shoot”! I just can’t get enough pictures of his sweet face!

I have loved reading this post countless times on other blogs and learning all about my favorite bloggers, so I thought today I would give it a whirl!!

Well with Summer over, I am finally giving you the scoop on the rest of the activities the girls and I completed from their Summer bucket list! Unfortunately We weren’t able to complete all of the activities due to their many trips and busy schedules, but we did come close! Sadie also decided to change up a couple of things last minute! i.e: We went ice skating instead of bowling and she was definitely too old to play with American Girls! Ha! Kids! But here is what we did do:

Cooking Lesson:
I taught Cleo how to make Manicotti! It turned out delicious!

Hallie is a bit Pasta obsessed! She was pointing at it saying “That, That!” Until we finally fixed her a plate!

Koolaid Dough
Sadie chose to do this one with a friend.  We made it a few summers ago and she LOVED it! Here’s the recipe!

Cupcakes
We chose to do these on the last day of Summer, so of course they HAD to be back to school themed! We used strawberry cake mix, white frosting, tootsie rolls, and red sprinkles to create little apples!

We can’t wait to see what next Summer has in store for us! Stay Tuned!

When we got into town, after dropping our things off at our sweet friend’s house (the Donahoe’s were so sweet to let us stay with them) we celebrated Nana’s birthday with dinner and cupcakes!

 The next day we spent plenty of beach time!

LOVE this! It’s SO me and the little sis! We went to Mario’s for an Italian dinner and the lovely Donahoe Family joined!

They give the kids dough to play with…once Hallie figured out it wasn’t to eat, she had fun!

At the beginning of our Vacation, we took Hallie to Houston on our way out to the beach to see Christopher’s grandparents.  They are just the sweetest and love all of their grandchildren and great grandchildren to bits! Hallie was no exception, and Grandma wasted no time pulling out toys for Hallie to play with!

Seahorse Tunic- Mudpie  Hallie had fun running around with Grandpa’s walking stick too! Sharing Puppy with Grandma  “Can you pass me the Funnies”  Hallie climbed RIGHT into Grandpa’s lap which if you knew her, doesn’t happen with just anyone! We were so blown away and Happy! We had such a great visit, and can’t wait to do it again soon!  <3 Kelly

Hello all! We are home from the beach safe and sound! We had a wonderful time celebrating my Mom’s birthday with the family!

I promise more pictures and more updates to come, but this week is a bit crazy! The house is still in shambles as we do laundry and try to unpack. And I will be spending most of my awake hours at work this week trying to give my girls a great last week of summer vacation as they return to school next week!
