Good morning friends! The Mock house just can’t catch a break! Christopher and I celebrated our anniversary with me finding out I had Strep Throat…fun stuff! We were able to sneak away for a little Cheesecake Date though, thanks Mom!
Anyway I am on antibiotics and on the mend and here’s what else we are up to:

Reading:
I am ALMOST done with the new Shopaholic book: Shopaholic to the Rescue. I have to say I have been a bit disappointed though…definitely not my fave…

Watching: 

Dancing with the stars, Big Bang Theory, and Christopher and I JUST started How to Get Away with Murder on Netflix! LOVING IT!

Listening to:
Christmas carols…Yep I am one of those people! Fa La La La La! 

Working on: 

Making my lists, checking them twice! I have to say I feel pretty in control of this years Christmas shopping! Hallie’s is almost done! 

Looking Forward to:  
Seeing all of our family and friends over Thanksgiving and Christmas! Here are a few photos of Hal last year during the holidays! She is so big now!

Loving: For Mommy: I have yet to get myself new boots and I keep falling in love with new ones! I really just need to bite the bullet and get some!

Today I have been married to my amazing husband for 3 years! 
I thought it would be fun to give you a glimpse at what this day 3 years ago was like for us!


First, a little background about us:
This coming February we will have be together for 11 years! 
He proposed on our puppy’s birthday after 7 years of dating.

We were married at our Church, a Catholic Church here in Dallas:

Cooler Weather Must Haves For Hallie

Happy Monday! It’s feeling like Fall here in DFW and I think it’s here to stay! Time to whip up some Chicken and Dumplings and purchase some Fall/Winter clothes for Hallie! She is still fitting in some of her items from last year, but pants/leggings we especially need more of! Girl is long and almost all of her pants are high waters on her!

Hi there friends and Happy Friday! Today I am sharing my 5 favorite phone photos from the week!

 Hallie is VERY into coloring right now! We are talking about getting her her very own art corner with a table and chairs where she can color and do her crafts! Also can someone please tell me where my baby went!?

 This is my relaxed girl! We must have been watching Charlie and Lola!

 Cookie face! This was after my Dad gave her a chocolate chip cookie! Fun fact, whenever Hallie gets a cookie or a treat she shovels it in her mouth without taking a break until it is gone! This is the result!

 Somebody crashed a Mommy and Daddy coffee date this week! Did you know that if you ask for a “pupuccino” that Starbucks will give you a little cup of whipped cream! It’s meant for dogs of course, but babies enjoy it too! Check out that face!

That time I made up a Chicken Pot Pie Recipe

Hi friends! I am so happy that it is almost the weekend! I have a fantastic recipe (if I do say so myself) that you MUST try this weekend! It’s a Chicken Pot Pie recipe that I concocted because I was craving it the other day and couldn’t find a recipe with homemade crust that I liked! I made it last night and everyone licked their plates clean AND went back for seconds! So here goes:

Ingredients:
For Crust:
1 1/2 C flour
3 TBS Sugar
3 ts Baking Powder
1/2 ts salt
1/2 C butter
2 eggs
3 TBS milk
For Filling:
2 carrots chopped
2 celery stalks chopped
1 yellow onion chopped
3 chicken breasts
your favorite poultry seasoning
1 package of frozen veggies of choice (Another reason I made my own recipe, I hate peas! I went with corn, more carrots, and green beans)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/3 C of whipping cream
(olive oil or butter for pan)

Step 1
Mix dry ingredients for dough together.
Step 2
Cut in butter
Step 3
Add eggs and milk and mix well until dough is formed.
Step 4
Cut dough in half leaving a slightly larger half and a slightly smaller one. Press larger one into a greased pie plate
Step 5
Season chicken and pan fry. Cut into chunks and set aside,
Step 6 
Cook veggies in the same pan until soft.
Step 7
Add chicken back into pan and add the cream of chicken and whipping cram. Mix well.
Step 8
Dump mixture into pie plate and top with remaining dough securing sides and cut middle to vent.
Step 9
Cook for 20-25 (until brown) at 375 Enjoy!

Countdown to Halloween Final Check in

Halloween has come and gone and I can’t believe this is the last link up of the season! I hope everyone had as much fun as we did celebrating! 
I can finally reveal Hallie’s costume and all the fun we had this week!
First, we had a lot of festive outfits this week:

We also had our fun playgroup Halloween party! There was tons of yummy food, and cute babes in costumes! Hal wore hers of course and our sweet host Mrs. Larissa took some adorable photos of the kids in costume! (we’ll share ours in a bit, but here are some photos of the party!

On Halloween we Trick or Treated to Family and Friends and then Hallie and cousin Matthew went Trick or Treating in my parent’s neighborhood!

Trick or treating was hilarious! Hallie INSISTED on carrying her own treat bag even when it got too heavy! She just set the Donald Duck she was carrying down on the pavement and instructed him to “SIT!” so she could use both hands to carry her candy! She went up to all the doors and LOVED putting the candy into her own bag when the neighbors let her choose her own treats!

Upon returning home, Hallie eagerly inspected her candy and Mommy and Daddy let her have some  a lot… It was Halloween! We discovered Smarties are her favorite! She also really enjoyed helping us open the door and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters!

All in all it was a wonderful Halloween!

Fall Bucket List Check In

I can’t believe how Fall is flying by! Before you know it we will be “Decking them Halls and all that stuff”(Excuse my Peanuts reference!) Anyway since Halloween is this weekend and in my mind Fall is wrapping up and Christmas carols are turning on! (Okay who am I kidding the Christmas carols have been on for a while now!) I thought now was as good a time as any to do our first Fall Bucket List check in!

We already went once with out buddy Kaysan from Playgroup, but weather permitted will be going again on Friday! 
Go to the Balloon Festival 

Paint Pumpkins
We have yet to carve one, but hopefully will get to that this weekend! We have done our share of pumpkin painting

Remember, even Puppy dressed for the occasion though Hallie wouldn’t keep the hat on!

I am actually on my 2nd and it’s even better than the first!

I read this earlier in the month…it was pretty good…maybe a 3 1/2 or 4 
I am currently reading this and it is “Gone Girl” good I am hanging on every word and don’t ever want to put it down!

Make Soup

We have more soup on the way, but we have indulged in a few…my favorite of course beer cheese!

More to come of course! We were supposed to do one yesterday, and got sidetracked letting the kids play outside since it was such a nice day! But we did make Pumpkin Spice Playdough!

Bake Cookies
I have definitely done my share of that! Here have been my 2 faves this year, Oatmeal raisin and Monster sugar cookies… though I have also made some Pumpkin Chocolate Chip!

Decorate for Fall
Or really just Halloween…pretty soon the tree goes up! I know, I know! I am crazy!

Today is my nephew’s birthday! Today my tiny man turns 9! I can’t believe that 9 years ago I became an Aunt! Happy Birthday Matthew! We love you!

Countdown to Halloween Week 4

I can’t believe how close we are to Halloween! The Fall weather has finally come to Dallas and seems to be sticking around and things are getting pretty festive up in here! 

We finally took a trip to the Pumpkin Patch this week! We went with Hallie’s friend Kaysan and his Mommy Amy and had a blast! The kids Ran around looking (and trying to pick up all of the pumpkins, went on a “hayride”, played in the petting zoo and went through a haystack maze! They loved it!

Hallie was running around screaming “Baaaa!” at all of the goats and sheep…the sheep were pretty antisocial though

Later this week Mommy’s Girls came over for a little PLL Halloween Party! We made Halloween treats and watched Halloween Pretty Little Liars episodes!
