May 17, 2016

Things are getting crazy at the Mock house! We are officially moving out this weekend!! So what have we been up to aside from losing our minds and packing you ask??

Reading:
Still my devotional as well as a million to do lists!

Watching:
Give me all your favorite Netflix shows ladies!!! No more cable in T-5 days! Right now I am just watching Dancing with the Stars and soaking up my last few days of Ellen! I have been so spoiled with a DVR!

Drinking:
Lots and lots of coffee! My allergies have me up at weird hours and my sleeping pattern has been TERRIBLE!
Eating:
I made this super yummy veggie pasta and I can’t get enough of it! It is good hot and cold and full of veggies which is great for Hallie!
Praying:
For a dear friend! Also praying Hallie isn’t too thrown by our transition to her Pop’s house for a few month’s while we look for a new house.

Listening to:
I am a total nerd.  My favorite Pandora station is the Glee station.  It plays songs from the show as well as other acoustic artists mixed with some other popular songs! It is pretty great!

Working on:
Hallie is doing pretty good with the potty training! If we are home I usually keep her in underwear and she does pretty good.  Only a couple accidents to date.  Also I am at the end of my to do list for her birthday planning! Just a few more projects and of course the food left! Only about a month to go!

Looking Forward to:
This move being passed us.  I am ready to set up camp at my FIL’s while we save a little money and find a house we really love! Also looking forward to seeing Hallie’s little face the day of her party! She is already so excited!

Loving: For Mommy:
Loving these sandals I used to have some similar ones and they were my absolute faves, but they have seen better days!

For Hallie:

I love that this kid is finally letting me experiment with other shoes! Not to say we don’t love our FP’s, but for summer, I love seeing her in a cute sandal! Her faves right now are her Old Navy jelly shoes! She calls them her Cindy-rella shoes because they are clear with silver sparkles! I would LOVE to get some other colors! These pink ones are too sweet!

What have you been up to?

Mother in Law Jackpot

May 16, 2016

Today I am dusting off the ‘ol laptop and finally writing a post I have been meaning to write for a week now.  Packing and moving has really gotten the best of me.  Then you throw in working, being a momma and suffering from the worst allergies I have ever experienced, and at the end of the day, I am beat!

Anyway, I wanted to take this post to share with you that I have not only won the lottery of Mother in Law’s, but I have hit the jackpot!

This Mother’s day I knew was going to be a bit difficult. We would all be missing Mom, and I wasn’t really looking forward to it. Then I heard that sweet Beth was coming in to help us celebrate and that changed. I picked out my very favorite dessert recipe from my Nana, and Beth agreed to help me make them.

We spent the day figuring out how to make Nana’s Italian Cream Puffs and had such a fun time spending time together.  Then Beth, always ever so thoughtful, brought out a gift that still brings tears to my eyes.

She said she promised my Mom that she would never let Hallie forget her.  She had my father in law print up these adorable night shirts for Hallie and her cousin Matthew.  Even though these shirts were meant for the kids, they were really the sweetest gift I have ever received!
Beth, you are truly incredible and I am so lucky to have you as my mother in law.
From the day I walked into your son’s life I have felt nothing but welcomed and loved by you. You accepted me into your family with open arms and I feel so blessed.  You are truly the best grandmother and Mother a girl could ask for.

Thank you for always being so amazing!  You so gracefully accepted the role as my alternate Momma and for that I will be forever grateful!

Hallie and I love you so much!

Mother’s Day recap

May 10, 2016

We had a really nice Mother’s Day despite missing Mom.  My Mother in Law was AMAZING, we celebrated with her on Saturday, which I will do a full update on tomorrow, but like I said, she was amazing!

Mother’s Day morning, I woke up to Starbucks in bed from my awesome husband! Then he and Hallie ran in with flowers and a sweet card (which also held a nice gift to Gap so I can do some shopping!) Hallie was adorable and ran to me saying “These are for you Momma” then she said “Happy Mother’s Day!” It totally turned my heart into goop!

Once we were ready for the day we grabbed a quick bite to eat and then went to a new Church.  It was fun getting to meet some new people.

After Church we spent the rest of the day with my Dad, aunt, uncles, nephew sisters, my mom’s best friend and my cousins. Dad made some BBQ and my aunt made some dessert.  We pulled out my mom’s favorite puzzle and worked on that. It was a really sweet but low key day.

I am so fortunate to have Hallie and Christopher! They really are the BEST!
Hope all the other Mommies had a great day!

Outtakes and Photography Armature

May 6, 2016

Hallie and I had so much fun with Larissa and her daughter Luna this week taking Mommy and me photos! The atmosphere was so beautiful that I couldn’t help snapping a few photos of my own! I am clearly just an armature, but some of them I think turned out pretty cute! Also Larissa asked if I could snap some of her with Luna for her to edit, and I was pretty proud of how they turned out!
 Beautiful besties!

 Beautiful girl!
 These 2!

 She cracks me up!!!

 Beautiful Mommy and Daughter!

I hope all the Moms out there have a FANTASTIC mother’s day!

First Mother’s Day Without

May 3, 2016

This Sunday will be the first Mother’s Day I will celebrate without my mom here with me. That doesn’t mean that I won’t still celebrate her.  We might not have always seen eye to eye, but we had so many good times.  Most people will tell you that I am just like my Dad, but in so many ways I am like her.

When I work way passed Hallie’s bedtime planning the perfect birthday party for her, my Mom is there.

When I pick out the perfect touches to each room in our house, Mom’s there.

When I read Hallie Mrs. Gigglebelly is coming for Tea or Jillian Jiggs, Mom is with us.

The memories I have with my Mom will live on through Hallie and I.  So this Mother’s Day, even though I know I will miss her, I refuse to be sad because I have so much to teach Hallie about her Nana. Happy Mother’s Day friends!

Two Years Ago..a Mother’s reflection

May 2, 2016

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, it got me thinking of my First Mothers Day and how quickly my baby is growing! I wrote a post a year ago.  A note to my baby girl. And as she grows and learns I wanted to tweak it, though the majority still rings true…

Two Years ago I couldn’t wait to meet you.  I wondered what you would look like. Would you have Dad’s nose? Would you have my eyes? Would you cry a lot or would you be quiet and content?  Would you be a good eater and a good sleeper or would we have countless midnight sing alongs and feedings?

I would sit in your nursery in your rocker and imagine what it would be like to hold you and rock you to sleep.  Imagining the unknown scenarios of what it would be like to be your Mom. Happy and scared. Would I be good at being your Mom? Would I know what to do?
I did know a few things…

I would love you more than I could fathom.
Your father and I would be the luckiest parents in the world.
And no matter what, I would always do everything in my power to protect you and make you happy.

Then you got here. And things just fell into place. I learned that you do have my eyes, but you still look just like your Daddy. You were are a very happy baby. Content, but not always quiet. You were always a good sleeper, but that isn’t surprising now because you are great at everything you do. You are strong and so capable for such a little peanut.  You are so much fun! You make me laugh. And you make me cry because I was right about those 3 little things.

I love you more than I ever could have imagined
Your Father and I are the luckiest parents in the entire world!

And I will always do EVERYTHING in my power to protect you and make you happy!

Now as your Second birthday quickly approaches, I sit here watching you play and learn imagining what the rest of your life will be like.
Will you do well in school? Will you make friends easily?
Will you be artistic? Or more into sports?
What college will you choose? Will you want to get married and have kids of your own? There are so many questions
that run through my head. I have dreams for you, big dreams, but I can’t wait to see the things you dream of too!
But those 3 little things? Those will never ever change!
I will ALWAYS Love you more than you can ever imagine, Your Daddy and I will ALWAYS see ourselves as the luckiest parents in the whole world, and Mommy will FOREVER do everything in my power to protect you and keep you happy!
I love you baby girl! Thank you for making me a Mommy.  You make me so proud!

April 27, 2016

Hello friends and Happy Wednesday! Half way through the week! Thanks goodness!!! Today I am sharing what we are currently up to this month at the Mock house!
Reading:
Just a daily devotional given to me by a sweet friend.  It’s been really nice to start my day with God.

Watching:
Dancing with the Stars! I am really loving Ginger! Also, Season 2 of Kimmy Schmidt! We are getting ready to not have cable here next month when we move out of the house!

Drinking:
I just heard that Starbucks is bringing back the S’mores Frap which is one of the only ones I will drink! I usually won’t splurge on the calories, but I’ll make an exception for S’mores anything!
Eating:
Made a big pot of this yummy Bolognese Sauce Monday night and we have pretty much been eating it all week! Yum!

Praying:
For things to go smoothly with our move next month! We close of the 2nd and have to be out by the 23rd.  We are planning on staying with Christopher’s Dad for a few months while we look for something new.

Listening to:

Currently Disney Pandora. I am also watching Hallie dance her little tushy off! Too cute!

Working on:

Planning Hal’s birthday! I have gotten a lot done this week! We also started Potty Training a few weeks ago..so far she’s doing pretty good!

Looking Forward to:

As much as I am not ready for Hallie to be 2, I can’t wait for her party! I have been working so hard on it, and she is so excited! She keeps talking about her “Happy Birthday” and singing herself “Happy Birthday to Hallie!”

Loving: For Mommy:
This is kind of for me and Hal, but TOMS released Mommy and Me styles which I am TOTALLY crushing on! Especially since Hallie recently started letting me put her in something other than her moccs… no worries we are still hard core Freshly Picked fan girls and they are for sure still our favorite shoes!

For Hallie:

Speaking of Freshly Picked, how cute are these Electric Coral! I am obsessed!
What have you been up to?

Hallie’s Birthday Wishlist

April 26, 2016

As I said before Hallie’s birthday is starting to creep up on us, and we are in full planning mode here at the Mock house.  A lot of people are starting to ask me about gift ideas and sizing for clothes, so I thought what better way to share what Hallie wants for her birthday than in a good ‘ol blog post!

1.Disney Princess Stamp Set: At the end of EVERY ballet class, Hallie’s teacher gives all the kids a sticker and a stamp. I think the stamp is her very favorite part of class! She waits so patiently to get her stamp and then shows it off the rest of the day.  Recently she began pretending other things around the house were stamps and pretends to stamp her own hand. So this stamp set is sure to be a winner!

2. Puzzles: Hallie loves to sit and do puzzles, and I even found some fun Minnie and Mickey ones on Amazon that would be perfect for Hal!

3. Books: Hallie can never get enough books! She loves to curl up in my lap and read! She has quite a list of books on her Amazon List

4. Leapfrog Tag Jr: This is so cool! It reads to the child and helps encourage vocabulary.  There are also a variety of books you can buy to go with it!

5. Doc McStuffin’s Dr. Kit- Hallie has been loving Doc McStuffins lately! She even sings “Time for your Check up!” and then proceeds to give Mommy, Daddy and Stella “Check ups!”

6. Summer clothes and PJs: Carter’s tends to fit her long skinny figure best! She is wearing Size 12 month in PJs, Pants, and Skirts. Either 12 or 18 month shirts and 18 month dresses.

7. Finding Nemo Water Table: We went to one of Hallie;s friends birthdays and she got this table! Hallie loved it! I know she will get plenty of use out of this fun table!

8. Princess Dress Up Trunk: This kid is ALL GIRL and loves to dress up! Shoes, crowns, tutus! You name it!

9. Dolly stroller: Hallie loves her baby doll that her Nana gave her for Christmas.  She named her baby June and loves to take care of her! She also loves the stroller at her friends house, so I know it will be a hit!

You can find all of these items and more ideas on Hallie’s Amazon Wishlist! I cannot wait to get shopping!
