Mom Style- Fall 2018

Happy Friday! Tomorrow is the first official day of Fall, and we are finally getting a break from the heat in Texas.  I figured there was no better time than now to share some of my favorite Fall pieces for this year. (Including some maternity pieces because the bump is no longer discrete!

As far as maternity tops go, I generally just try to size up in normal tops so that I can wear them again but it still accommodates the bump.  This rust colored top is so soft and stretchy and it’s the perfect lightweight material for a Southern Fall.  The stripe sweatshirt is soft and cozy, and I totally have plans to wear it this Halloween!

Maternity jeans and leggings are definitely staples! I don’t like to spend too much on them since I won’t be wearing them long, so these are incredibly affordable.

I am going to be rocking a bump at 2 weddings this Fall, so I did snag this classic black dress.  But as formal dresses go, it was affordable as well.

Back To School Style

I can’t believe summer is almost over and school is just around the corner.  Some kids are already starting to go back, but lucky little Hallie has a few more weeks of freedom.   Then it’s back to preschool with Kindergarten on the horizon! Where did my baby go? While we soak up these last few weeks of Summer, I am stocking up on school must haves.  So, here is our fun list of Hallie’s Back to School style.

Due to Hallie’s love for anything Horse and Unicorn we snagged a unicorn lunchbox and my Aunt got her this precious Unicorn top. I just love the little navy horse shirt paired with the striped skirt.  They both have metallic details which as you can see, we are really big on this year! Finally, we topped our list with some sparky shoes and a few more basic dresses, and what do you know? All ready for school. Momma Spring Style

As a mom, sometimes I forget to shop for myself.  I spend so much time wearing yoga pants and old Tshirts running around town.  Last weekend, my Mother in Law was in town.  She spoiled me with a couple new wardrobe staples and it got me thinking that I could really use a wardrobe makeover! Here’s what I have come up with!

I’m a big fan of dresses that can be dressed up or down.  This one I snagged in a  jewel tone green and it is precious paired with these sandals. The dress and sandals are both on sale for $15 right now, so act fast! This hooded pullover is everything for the busy mom on the go.  I have it in teal and wear it at least once a week with some joggers.  Big surprise, I am wearing it right now as I type this! T-shirts, drawstring shorts and comfy slip-ons finish out my list! How cute is this flutter sleeve top?

Spring Kid Style

Spring is in full swing here in Texas! There have been plenty of rain puddles to jump in balanced by warm sun shiny days.  Allergies aside, we are loving the cool mornings and warm afternoons.  Dressing in layers has been the perfect way to plan for these Texas spring days.  Here are our favorite wardrobe staples this spring.

My sweet mother in law took Hallie and I shopping over the weekend, and got her this adorable denim jacket! Hallie and I are both obsessed with it and she has been sporting it with every dress she owns.  Speaking of dresses, the little striped dress is on sale now!  The polka dot swing dress from June and January is a perfect dress to transition from Spring to Summer. Seriously friends, how is March already half over?! This month has been crazy! Busy with Hallie on Spring Break, the store’s official opening, and 2 weddings, including my Dad’s at the end of the month. Hallie is the Flower Girl and we just can’t wait! Here is everything else we have been up to:

Oh hey, it’s time for a shameless plug! I have been reading a ton of awesome posts on the Dallas Moms Blog.  One of which, yes I actually wrote! Watching:

Christopher and I started watching The Good Place, it’s hilarious! What do you guys think?  I am also trying to catch The Voice this season.  I’ve missed some here and there, but I think it’s going to be a great season! LOVE Kelly Clarkson…not just because she has an awesome name! On that note, while trying to watch one night this week, this happened: (Hallie was playing with a Minnie Mouse watch that played the Hotdog song)
Hallie: Mom, say “Play” and I will make it sing. Me: No, honey, Mommy is trying to hear this. Hallie: (Whining for several minutes) Me: Hallie stop whining.  And if you aren’t going to play with your ponies, please pick them up. Hallie: (HUGE SMILE as she presses the watch) You said PLAY!!! Touche child!

Eating:

Working on:

I just started party planning for Hal’s 4th Birthday! How is this possible?! We are also in the process of decluttering. With my Dad getting married he is selling his house and has been giving us some of my childhood things. Including beanie babies….remember when we thought those were going to be worth something? Any suggestions on what to do with them now?

Looking Forward to:

Watching the store grow! Christopher is doing just awesome! Big things are coming this year! I can feel it!

It’s Sandal weather in Texas! And I am digging these!

Hallie is in love with everything Rainbow lately, so we are definitely going to have to nab these sandals for her. What are you up to? I want to hear!

Toddler Easter Dresses In Every Color

Over the weekend we attended our first Easter event of the season.  I started writing as a contributor for the Dallas Moms Blog, and we put on an awesome Easter Egg Hunt at Texas Discovery Gardens.  Once we left the event, it got me thinking that I hadn’t even started looking at Easter dresses yet! So today, I scoped out the internet for some contenders! So, I bring you Toddler Easter Dresses in every color!

I absolutely love the plaid dress, and if I can convince Hallie to wear it, it’s definitely in the lead! Doesn’t it look like an Easter Egg! However the eyelet pink one is darling as well!  I just can’t choose. What are your favorites? As much as I love all of these, you know that my opinion doesn’t really matter! Anyone else have a 3 year old with the biggest opinion on their wardrobe ever?

A Few of My Favorite Things- February

It’s the month of love, and what better way to celebrate than sharing some of the products I love?  These are a few of my favorite things for February!

Please don’t judge the fact that half of these items come from Thelma Dean.  I just can’t get over how good this shop is! Founder Jess Oakes created a shop so practical for Moms! All the pieces are flattering, affordable and adorable.  Many of the items are nursing friendly and they are all functional for busy Moms on the go, chasing after our kids! The joggers especially are so comfortable, and I never want to take them off! And when I say affordable, I mean it! Shout out to Jess for creating this amazing shop for Moms everywhere!

Also, can we take a minute to praise the Freshly Picked diaper bag? I can’t stop creeping on it online, and the only thing holding me back from snagging one, is deciding on the color! Three new colors for Spring just released a few weeks ago! I’m totally smitten with the navy..and the birch! I can’t decide, so opinions please!

I am giving a quick shout out to the Oh Sugar collection from Cover Girl! The lipstick, that feels and acts like a balm, but is color lasting! In other news, check out that price! Also those Toms, are love!

Valentine Kid Style

A Few of My Favorite Things- January

January is all about new beginnings. For me, it’s about setting and achieving goals, that is when I am not hunkered down in my Pjs.  Today I am sharing some of my favorite products for work, for play and for hunkering down in said PJs.

For Work: Erin Condren makes the BEST customizable planners! I prefer the vertical layout because there is plenty of room to keep track of everyone in the family.  And the dual tip markers are perfection!

For Play: Obsessed with these open front cardis! I have them in a few colors! Bonus, select colors are on sale now. This lipstick color is love for this time of year!

For Rest: I can’t get enough of these super comfy pajama pants! It’s the kind of love where you are incredibly bummed on laundry day to have to take them off to wash. Know what I mean? Also if you don’t have an Ugg Blanket, you are missing out! They are the softest warmest throws to wrap up in on a cold January day.
