13 weeks and counting!
We went for another ultrasound yesterday and we got some wonderful news! For those of you who don’t know, we have been battling a Sub chronic Hematoma this entire pregnancy. It is a very common blood clot that most women don’t even notice, however mine instead of going away on it’s own has been growing for the last several weeks! Yesterday we went in and received wonderful news that the clot that 2 weeks ago had reached 7 cm was now only 2.7 cm! The doctor seemed very pleased and assured us that by my next visit (15 weeks) it should be completely gone!
A perk of this annoying clot was that we got to see our baby every two weeks and watch him/her grow and change. And let me tell you folks, this baby is going to be a piece of work! He/she is always moving around like crazy! The last time we went in she/he stuck it’s little hand up and started waving at us! This time we saw some waving, dancing, and our baby sucking it’s cute little thumb! I can’t wait for my next visit!

Entertaining Sadie
This past week Cleo (my almost 10 year old) has been at sleep away camp. That left just Sadie (my energetic 6 year old) and I to make our own fun! I have to say at times it can be tricky to keep this little 6 year old entertained, but this week, we did some pretty fun things!
Monday- We spent the day at the pool
Tuesday- We took her new library card to the library and picked out some books, and she signed up for the Summer reading program! This little thing cracks me up! She is always so determined! The program requires that you read 15 books by August 4th and this week Sadie has read 7!
Wednesday- Sadie got to meet baby Luke! Then she helped me make more of my homemade pasta! Yum!
Thursday- Sadie invited a friend over and we made homemade pizza and homemade kool-aid dough! It was so much fun!
Everyone needs to try this out!
Recipe:
1 1/4 Cups Flour
1/4 Cup Salt
1 Kool-Aid packet…any color
1 Tablespoon Cream of Tartar
1 cup boiling water
1 1/2 Tablespoon canola oil
Wax paper
Making the playdough:
Mix Flour, salt, Kool-Aid and cream of tartar. Add boiling water and oil. Mix with spoon until cool. Then mix with hands to form ball. Add flour if still sticky.
Play on wax paper.
Bacon Cupcakes…yep its a thing
For the cake:
3/4 Cup Softened Butter
1 1/4 Cups Sugar
4 Egg Whites
2 1/4 Cups Flour
2 ts baking powder
1 ts Vanilla
1/2 ts Salt
3/4 Cup Milk
1 TBS Cinnamon
Cream Butter and Sugar together. Beat in egg whites and vanilla. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Add to creamed mixture and stir in milk gradually.
Bake 16-18 minutes at 375. Cool before adding frosting
Frosting:
2 8 oz packages of cream cheese
1/2 cup softened butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 ts vanilla
1 package of bacon
1 Cup maple syrup
In a Med. bowl cream together cream cheese and butter. Mix in vanilla and add sugar gradually. Store in fridge. Fry bacon until crispy. Before removing from skillet pour a line of maple syrup down each strip of bacon. Once cool, crumble bacon over iced cupcakes and drizzle with leftover syrup. Enjoy!
4th of July Crafts
The girls and I had a really fun time preparing for 4th of July!
First we made yummy 4th of July cookies
Then we made Festive Tiaras
The last thing we did was “Firework” painting! I had the girls dip koosh balls we got at the dollar store into red and blue paint and smack them onto poster board!
They had so much fun…I think maybe a little too much fun! Haha!
