Bubble Bath Paint

October 13, 2015

Yesterday I shared that over the weekend Hallie had her very first Bubble Bath painting experience! The recipe was SOOO easy I just HAD to share it!

Ingredients
Your favorite clear tear free soap (1 Cup)
4 TBS Corn Starch
Food Coloring

In a bowl Mix together the soap and cornstarch.  Next separate mixture into small Tupperware for easy storage. (One for each color) Drop only a couple drops of food coloring into each container and mix well!

I made 2 colors! Slime Green and Purple People Eater Purple

Spoon a drop of each color onto a color pallet and hand the kids a paint brush and let them paint the bathtub walls, their toys, themselves! It was easy to clean up and didn’t stain with only a few drops of food coloring!
Enjoy!

Countdown to Halloween Week 2

October 12, 2015

Happy Monday! Welcome back to the Countdown to Halloween! Grab the button and link up with us!

Happily Ever Mock

Happily Ever Mock

I had a TERRIBLE cold last week, but that didn’t stop us from having some Halloween fun! I felt like laying on the couch in front of the TV a lot this week so (MOTHER OF THE YEAR AWARD) Hallie and I had a Halloween marathon and watched some great Halloween specials! Here’s what we watched!

Charlie and Lola “What Can I Wear for Halloween”

Mickey’s Treat

Mickey’s Monster Musical

I also finished our decorating this week

Look at those teeny toes! We made this last year!
The candles and pumpkins all light up

Saturday night was girls night! Daddy was working late, so we took the opportunity to have a fun Halloween themed bath, eat yummy pumpkin bread and watch Mommy’s favorite Halloween special “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown”

I mixed up some bath paint in Slime Green and Purple People Eater Purple (Lookout for the recipe this week!), pulled out the Halloween rubber duckies, and tried Courtney’s Glowstick bath trick!
She LOVED the painting the walls and her ducks!

THAT FACE!

Then the party began! We turned out the lights and got out our glow in the dark ducks and glow sticks!

Even our new friend “Stan the Fish” enjoyed the fun!
After bath, we wrapped up in our Owl towel! Hallie kept saying “Hoo Hoo”
Then we put on our skeleton PJs and read some library books
Even Puppy got in the Halloween spirit
Then we snuggled up for Charlie Brown

“Gosh Mom! I’m trying to watch!”
Pumpkin Bread! (This week that bread is turning into something else delicious, watch for that next week!)

We also did some Pumpkin Painting this weekend!

Hallie picked a perfect pumpkin at the grocery store
Then Mommy turned it into Mickey Mouse!
Hallie just loved it! We might have to make a Minnie one next!

All in all (aside from the yucky head cold) we had a fantastic week! Hoping to get some Fall weather here in Dallas soon! What has everyone else been up to? Link up below!

Random facts on Tuesday

October 6, 2015

Thanks to everyone who linked up with us yesterday! Please come back and join in on the fun again next Monday!
Today I am feeling a bit under the weather, so I thought a quick easy post was in order! Here are 10 little known facts about me:

1.) The most expensive thing I have ever purchased wasn’t for me…it was Christopher’s wedding ring.

2.) Interesting fact about those wedding rings…my band fits perfectly inside of his.

3.) I have a lot of pet peeves (I get annoyed kind of easily) but one of my biggest is when people mispronounce Hallie’s name…it’s short for Hallelujah so it rhymes with “Sally”

4.) I never learned how to ride a bike

5.) I have extreme anxiety about talking on the phone with people I don’t know…it’s gotten a little better as I’ve aged and had to make more appointments, but if Christopher is home and we are ordering take-out…he’s doing the calling or I will do it online!

6.) I would love to own a bakery that specializes in cookies

7.) I never owned pets growing up, so Stella is my first and only Pet

8.) Hallie was almost named either Bridget or Charlotte, but I changed my mind as soon as we found out she was a girl…neither name felt right

9.)  I don’t really like fruit…there are a few exceptions…I do like pineapple and most fruits as long as they are baked, but you will never catch me biting into an apple…

10.) My Dad works for the Boy Scouts of America, and I have never been camping in a tent…ever!

What are some little known facts about yourself?

Countdown to Halloween Week 1

October 5, 2015

Hello, Happy Monday and Welcome to the first Countdown to Halloween 2015! Check back here for all the details if you missed the announcement! Also make sure to check out my co-hosts blogs (Sweet Turtle Soup, Tickled Pink, Chason’ Mason and the Joni Journey) for more Halloween fun!
I am so excited to get started and see all of the fun Fall and Halloween things everyone has been up to! Also for everyone who lives somewhere where you actually get to enjoy Fall weather, changing leaves and gorgeous Fall clothes, don’t mind if I sit and drool over your pictures for a while!
Despite not having the Fall weather, we have been having a lot of fun here at the Mock house!

Our Halloween Must Haves:
Last week, I shared some of our Halloween must haves! Hallie has been LIVING in her skeleton PJs and that Hocus pocus shirt with her Vanilla Bean leggings (We got the striped ones, but they are sold out now, boo!)

We also have been reading a TON of Halloween themed books! Room on the Broom and Biscuit’s Pet and Play Halloween are our two favorites, but here are some others we borrowed from the library!

1. Boo- Leslie Patricelli

2. Clifford’s First Halloween

3. Where’s Baby’s Pumpkin
DIY Projects and Crafts:
This is usually my favorite part of any holiday! I love getting crafty! So far we have made Pumpkin Spice Play dough for Playgroup, and my mom’s group made fun burlap pumpkins!
– Pumpkin Spice Play dough:

Hallie’s buddy Luna
Hallie must be just like Momma, Loves pumpkin everything! She couldn’t stop smelling it!
Our Buddy Bowen!

– Burlap Pumpkins

Fall Recipes:
So far we have indulged in Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies, Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, Halloween Oreo Brownies and Beer Cheese Soup!

For these suckers, prepare your favorite brownies and drop oreos (or pretty much whatever you want) into the pan before sticking it in the oven…YUM!)

We of course have so much more Halloween/Fall fun on the way!

Friday 5 Randoms!

October 2, 2015

I am SOOO Thankful for Friday! This week seems like it has lasted FOREVER! Here’s what has been/will be happening at the Mock house:

5 Friday Randoms:

1.  Hallie got a brand new big girl car seat this week! We are in LOVE! It was totally meant to be! We went with the Chicco Nextfit, because she can still recline all the way back and it has the same feel as her carrier, but with 9 settings, there is plenty of room for growth

2. Freshly Picked came out with 2 new Moccasin colors that the Mock girls have been drooling over ALL week! “No Place Like Home” and “Let it Go”. They will be perfect for Halloween costumes and FOR SURE for Christmas! Come on people, There’s No Place Like Home has my heart skipping a beat!
3. The Etsy Shop got stocked for Halloween
4. I am hoping everyone has a great weekend! I get to spend my weekend with some of my favorite ladies:

5. Don’t forget to linkup with us starting Monday for Countdown to Halloween!
Happy Friday!

Hocus Pocus

September 29, 2015

Nothing screams Halloween season like watching Hocus Pocus! It was always one of my favorite Halloween movies, so I was thrilled when I came across this Etsy Shop, Vanilla Bean Baby and this adorable Halloween T-shirt for Hallie!
T-shirt and leggings- Vanilla Bean Baby/ Ebony Moccasins- Freshly Picked

The seller, Natalie was so sweet and easy to work with, and her product came immaculately shipped in these cute little Vanilla Bean bags!

The T-shirt is so soft, and Hallie couldn’t stop staring at the sparkles on the adorable little kitty! I also love how Natalie gives the option of cuffed and not cuffed sleeves! We chose cuffed and we got so many compliments on the shirt, often for that reason!

The leggings are equally as soft, and come with the little “Vanilla Bean Baby” logo on the back!
All in all I give this shop 2 thumbs up and highly recommend that you check out all of the cute Fall and Halloween items in her shop! Take it from Hallie, this shop rocks!

We just LOVE Vanilla Bean Baby, and will definitely be making more purchases in the future!

15 Months of Hallie Anne

September 24, 2015

  • Age- 15 months
  • Weight- Just barely on the charts this time at 16 lb 11 oz
  • Length- 31 inches! Officially outgrown the infant carrier! 2 inches in 3 months…this kid is going to be TALL!
  • Size- I really don’t know anymore…we wear a lot of mixed matched sizes…some 3 month or 6 month, some 9 month and occasionally 12 month if we sew the sides of the waist to make it smaller but we need pants to be long! She has long long legs and an itty bitty waist.  We are in size 2 diapers during the day and 3s at night.
  • Eyes- blue-green
  • Hair- Light brown and we had our first haircut!
  • Sleeping- 2 naps a day and 11 hours at night.
  • Eating- Getting a bit pickier, but I can still get her to eat most things. LOVES her whole milk!
  • Teeth- 4- 2 on top and 2 on bottom with some very swollen gums!
  • Milestones-  Jumping, and exploding vocabulary!
  • Memorable outings- Trip to Galveston, Back at playgroup after a LONG summer, balloon festival and visiting great grandparents.

  • Favorite toys/activities-  Stuffed animals (Especially my puppy, giraffe and bunny), Books (especially animal books like Dear Zoo), Pat-a-cake, cars and musical toys, dress up (we spent about 2 weeks straight wearing a necklace from Memi! She also recently started wearing sunglasses)
  • Words/sounds-Over 50 words and phrases…she added “No” yesterday, luckily its usually in response to a question and not an objection.
  • Nicknames- I call her sweet pea, peanut, sweet girl, Hal or lately bean!
  • Funny moments- She loves making animal sounds! Recently we have added “monster” to our list of sounds and she will run around the house growling! It’s pretty funny! She also likes to give you a “Bonk” on the head…a lot of time she uses it as a gesture of endearment instead of a kiss or a hug, she’ll bump you with her forehead.  But then she is very fair so she has to go around “bonking” everyone in the forehead. We also had a moment a few weeks ago when she was mad at her shape sorter because the square wouldn’t fit in the star hole! She also refused my help, so she just sat there screaming! We have discovered our bellybutton and she gets upset when I put onesies on because she can’t play with it.
  • Looking forward to- Halloween! There is a pretty amazing costume in the works!
