M&M Blondies

March 10, 2016

These were some of the very best Blondies I have ever tasted, and I knew when I was done eating them that I would HAVE to share the recipe with my readers!

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 C Unsalted Butter
2 Cups of Light Brown Sugar
2 eggs
1 ts Salt
1 ts vanilla
2 ts baking powder
2 Cups of flour sifted
1 Package of M&M 11.4 oz bag

Steps:
1. Cream the butter and brown sugar together
2. Add eggs, Salt and Vanilla and mix until well blended
3. Slowly Add the baking powder and sifted flour until batter is smooth
4. Stir in 1/2 of the bag of M&M candies by hand so that you don’t break them
5. Pour batter into a greased 9×13 baking dish then add the rest of the bag placing them on top of the batter. (I didn’t use the entire rest of the bag…I had a small handful left over which I shared with Hallie) Also the batter will rise in the oven so don’t worry if it doesn’t look too full,
6. Bake at 350 for 24 minutes.  It will look undone when you pull it out of the oven, but will set as it cools.

Once they are completely cool, cut them into bars of your desired size and share…or not!

That Moment When

March 9, 2016

Hi friends! Have you entered our fun giveaway yet?!  No?! Go do it now!

Today I am sharing with you the first edition of “That Moment When”.  You know the moments I am talking about!

That Moment When….

– You can’t get to sleep because you have been humming the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme for about an hour

– The Hotdog Song means you need to hurry and finish whatever it is you are doing before your toddler comes running down the hall to find you

-You are so tired that you try to put the lid to the juice on your kid’s sippy cup instead of the juice…then you try to stick the sippy cup in the fridge instead of the juice

-A vase breaks in the same room as your barefoot toddler, so you scoop her up at lightning speed

– You kiss a “pretend” boo boo on your daughter’s belly

– When you find a paci that has been missing for about 6 months

-All of these moments happen in a 24 hour period, so you finish off the day with a glass of wine

…ah Motherhood, a’int it grand? Luckily this face makes it all worth it!

Precious Moments

March 1, 2016

I have to say Hallie being sick has taken a lot out of us all! She is up coughing at all hours of the night.  She isn’t comfortable in her crib and has been sleeping with me propped up on a million pillows.  For days all she wanted to do was lay on me on the couch and either sleep or watch TV, so there goes the house work. She hasn’t had energy or even an appetite. (which if you know my girl is odd) Needless to say, we are all exhausted around here and ready to be feeling better.  She is finally on the mend so things are looking up! However, even with all the coughing and exhaustion, I have been soaking up a lot of sweet Hallie cuddles.  When Hallie is sick or tired is about the only time I get cuddles, so we have shared a lot of precious moments I would never have traded for the world.  Which I guess goes to show you, there’s a silver lining on every dark cloud.

King Size Part 2

February 29, 2016

Happy Monday! If you read up last week you know that we were picking up our new bedding this weekend and I am so excited to share the reveal! We still have to pick up the matching shams and maybe a few fun pillows, so for now, I just used the ones from out old bedding.  I did pick up these new sheets from target though! I really love the look! After much debate we decided on:

The Metallic Tuck Chambray
Also please ignore the no headboard! We are planning on building one as soon as we get into our new house…whenever that is, so for now it’s #dormliving
The Metallic Tuck Chambray

It is super soft and cozy and I absolutely LOVE the color! We have spent most of the weekend snuggled in bed too since little miss was diagnosed with a double ear infection and croup on Friday! We are still on the mend!

Hope everyone else had a great weekend! If you need us, we will be snuggled in right here!

King Size

February 24, 2016

Teething bites the big one folks! Hallie never really had it affect her until the dreaded molars reared their evil heads! Around molar number 1 she stopped sleeping through the night (which was the first time since she was like 6 weeks old!) and I was getting up to comfort her multiple times in one night, and would finally give in and let her sleep with us for the remainder of the night.  Around molar number 2 we decided to take the plunge and buy a king size mattress.  For a teeny little girl, she sure does take up a lot of room in bed! She was sleeping sideways, head in Christopher’s back and feet in mine, simultaneously pushing both of us out of bed…we were miserable.
So out with the old in with the new (new mattress and teeth that is) we are loving our new mattress. We are on molar number 3 and all sleeping a lot better…but we are still doing it in our queen size bedding! Here are some photos of our current bedding (check out these flashbacks!) sadly I have no better ones and our bed is currently covered in clean laundry….sooo this is the best we’re getting

So I am finally starting to do a little quilt shopping, and while I love the pattern of our queen quilt, I am thinking I want to purchase something a little more clean and neutral this time. Here’s where you come in:
I have a gift card to West Elm, from our wedding…yes you read that right….that I have yet to spend, and I thought this would be the perfect time! Here are the 3 choices (in no particular order) that I am mulling around, as well as the wall color in our bedroom:
Excuse the mess this was during the painting process…
And our my 3 favorites in no particular order:

West Elm- Mid Century Circlet in Peacock
West Elm-Metallic Tuck Chambray Quilt in Light Pool
West Elm- Braided Quilt in Moonstone

Just leave me your vote in the comments and it will hopefully help me make a final decision! I do have one I am kind of leaning toward….but let’s see if you can sway me one way or the other!
Thanks friends!!

Currently February

February 23, 2016

Happy Tuesday! Today I am sharing my Monthly Currently post with you! It is so fun to look back and see how much can change in a month! (if I am consistent with them that is!)
Reading:
I am ALMOST done with Joanne Fluke’s Red Velvet Cupcake Murder.  It’s a series I started a while ago that is kind of a time filler series for me.  They are easy to figure out, have great recipes, and perfect for when I have nothing to read! My Mom loves them too!

Watching: SO MUCH! How to get away with murder, Big Bang Theory, PLL, Project Runway All Stars, American Idol, etc, etc…it’s getting crazy! Also anyone excited for the Fuller House premier? I am 1/2 excited and 1/2 skeptical! I hope its good!

Drinking: Lately (aside from my normal coffee) I have been switching between water with a lemon wedge (I just leave the wedge in my water bottle all day and keep filling it up. It’s pretty cute because Hal insists on having the same!) and These sparkling…they are SO good, and a perfect fix because I gave up soda for lent! The Strawberry/Watermelon is my FAVE!
Eating:  Leftover birthday cake and Valentine candy! GET IT OUT OF MY HOUSE!!! This week I am also trying a few new recipes! I will share the good ones!
Praying: For a few personal things, also there are so many of my loved ones who are ill and need recovery.

Listening to: Right now the rain as well as Hal’s morning cartoon! Today it’s Mickey Mouse.  In the car we have been listening to Glee Pandora! Love it!

Working on:  Of course you think I am crazy, but each week I have been knocking out a birthday project for Hal’s birthday. Some have been as easy as booking my baker for the cupcakes, but if you follow me on Facebook you also know I have been tackling some bigger projects!

Treat bags and Ribbon banner

Looking Forward to:
Partly Hal’s birthday, though I don’t want to admit that she is almost 2! It is fun planning something I know she is going to be really excited about! Also SOOO ready for Spring Break.  Even further in the future…looking forward to moving to a new bigger house…we have sort of started to get the ball rolling on that…though it’s not rolling very fast!

Loving: For Mommy:

Right now I have been very into the whole tunic and leggings trend…mostly because I have extra Thanksgiving/Christmas/Valentines Day/Christopher’s birthday weight that I need to take off before summer! Anyway these Old Navy tunics have been great! I also would love to check out those Lularoe Irma’s and Leggings…anyone else into that!? I haven’t been brave enough to order yet because they are a bit more expensive than I usually buy and haven’t seen them in person!

For Hallie:

Loving the Spring styles at Old Navy! We must have this little dress and so many more things! TIME TO SHOP!

Weekend and Happy Birthday Luna

February 22, 2016

We had a great weekend! Hallie’s Memi came to town and we celebrated Daddy’s birthday with his family! It was great!
Memi got Daddy this delicious cake from Whole Foods
Clearly it was enjoyed!

Hallie also learned a new talent…She just looked over at me and said “Look Momma!”

On Saturday Hallie got to dress up as a Princess to attend her friend Luna’s Sofia the First Princess Party! She had a blast!

 Hallie with the birthday girl!!!

Luna’s Daddy made this amazing castle cake!

The GORGEOUS custom doll we got Luna from Lunnita Studio! Hallie is definitely getting a matching one!!!

Hugging her friends goodbye!

All in all it was a wonderful weekend! How was yours?

Friday and Giveaway winner

February 19, 2016

Happy Friday!!!
Thank you everyone who entered the swaddle design giveaway! Congratulations to Nicki Joseph! Please return my email with your selections and mailing address.  No worries if you didn’t win! I have something else up my sleeve soon, so stay tuned!

I hope everyone had a great week!

1.) We had fun celebrating Daddy’s birthday this week! We went to Twisted Root Burger for lunch! Hallie slept through most of lunch, but woke up in time to finish off the milkshake we were sharing while we ordered her some lunch! After lunch we ran some errands and Daddy picked out his new birthday present at Cabella’s.  Then it was Cheesecake Factory for dinner!

2. The shirt really says it all! Tiny and WILD!

3. Hallie has been so good at “reading” by herself lately! I will sit her on the couch or in her crib with books if I need to shower or get a chore done without her underfoot and she will totally flip through the pages and talk about what she sees! This one was a good one because it’s about cookies so I got to hear her say “tookies” about 50 times! Love it!

4. The pretend play has also started! She will have Minnie talk to Daisy and Daisy talks back. It is mostly gibber jabber, but when I play with her I invent scenarios so sometimes I will hear her repeat things I have said! It’s pretty cute!
5. This was after work yesterday! She refused a nap yesterday and fell asleep in the car on the way home from work…at 6:30.. you can imagine how much fun it was waking her up for dinner….but in this moment, she was a peaceful little angel, so that’s the moment I will commit to memory!

We hope everyone has a great weekend!
