Mom

I want to thank everyone for their kindness and patience. The day after Easter, my Mother’s condition took a turn, and just one week later Jesus called her home.  It has been such an adjustment for our family because Mom was the glue that held everything together.  We are missing her everyday.  I wish I could say more, but things are still so raw right now, so I will end with some of my favorite photos of Mom. (excuse the spacing, some of these are scanned photos)

Happy Easter 2016

We sure hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend! We sure did! Little bit was spoiled, and we are going to be eating Easter candy for decades! We had a very eventful weekend, so I figured I would do what I did last year, and work in reverse for a few days, today starting with Sunday! (You are being forewarned there are a TON of pictures)

 Hallie and Christopher got back late from Houston Saturday night (Mommy ended up staying to get a bunch of stuff done) and since I missed her all day, I let her sleep in our bed.  We woke up around 7:45 am. and Hallie was eager to see what the Easter Bunny brought, so we ran to her room where her basket was waiting!

The contents: A butterfly net (because Hallie was telling Mommy and Daddy that she was going to catch the Easter Bunny…in a butterfly net! Ha! Where does she get this stuff!), Elsa Wooden dress up doll, little mermaid coloring pack, stickers, bunny ears, Olaf jelly beans, a Snoopy Crunch Easter Egg, Vanilla Cream Egg, Bubbles, Let it Go Microphone, and a ton of Easter eggs filled with M&M’s, Goldfish, Fruit Snacks and Smarties! (H’s favorite candy)

After opening her basket from the Easter Bunny, Daddy brought out another fun basket from Memi and Pop! 

She loved everything!!! 
After opening all of the Easter treats, she played for a while, then it was time to get ready for Brunch with Nana, Bapa, her Aunties and cousin Matt!

 We went to Maggianos and it was as usual, super delicious and WAY too much food!

 My sweet Mom and Dad who treated us to a delicious meal!

 Hallie was so funny when the pasta arrived she immediately shoved it in her mouth and exclaimed “Mmm! Pasta” Yes, baby girl carbs are delicious and you are your Momma’s girl!

After Brunch, the Mommy bunnies rushed home and made sure the egg hunt was ready for the kids! The smallest bunny luckily fell asleep giving us plenty of time! In fact, Great Aunt Janie and Uncle Greg and some of our cousins showed up just in time for the fun! Aunt Janie of course always bearing gifts and beautiful hand made cards!

Once the kids opened their sweet gifts from Aunt Janie it was time for the hunt!

The kids were absolutely spoiled and had so much fun! Then of course Nana and Bapa brought out even more treats for the kids!
The rest of the afternoon we just spent time together as a family! (We sadly totally lost track of time and missed Mass! Ooops!)

We had a really lovely day! When we got home I took some photos of Hallie and all of her Easter loot! This kid was so darn spoiled! Thanks to everyone who helped make her day fun and special!

Play Group Egg Hunt

On Tuesday we went to our 2nd annual Play Group Easter party.  Last year we basically just dumped out a bunch of eggs on the living room floor and let the babies crawl around, but this year, the kids really “Got it” and it was ALOT of fun!

Hallie’s Favorite Easter Reads

Every night Hallie and I curl up with a couple books before prayer and bed, and each holiday is another excuse for us to hit up the bookstore or library for some fun themed reading! Today I thought I would share with you all of the fun books we have been reading in preparation for Easter on Sunday:

A Girl and her Dog

With Stella’s 6th birthday quickly approaching next week it got me thinking of how wonderful she has been since we added Hallie into our family! From the beginning she has been so protective and gentle with her.  And of course Hallie just adores her! Stella is really like her first best friend! Christopher took Hallie and Stella to the dog park last week, and when they got home he asked her, “Which dog was your favorite?” Without skipping a beat, she squealed “Stella!” Of course Daddy! That love runs deep!

Nobody brings a smile to Hal’s face quicker than Stella.  And nobody could come between this girl and her dog!

Happy St. Patty’s Day

Happy St. Patty’s Day from Hallie Anne!

We made sure to wear green today and yesterday for our playgroup party.  Actually I washed Hallie’s outfit last night so she could wear it again today! When I started to get her dressed this morning, girlfriend starting crying saying “No shirt! Wore already!” In case there was any doubt in my mind that she is a girly girl, that was all cleared up this morning! How dare she be caught wearing the same outfit 2 days in a row! Luckily I was able to convince her to wear it again if she got to wear her new Freshly Picked Moccs with them! ALL GIRL!

Also here is a side by side comparison St. Patrick’s day last year, and now this year! She is getting HUGE!

Happy Tuesday! And happy birthday to my sister Katie! 
Here’s what’s going on at the Mock house! 
Reading:
Actually, NOTHING! That is so weird for me! Any suggestions folks!? I would love to read something Nonfiction…it’s been a while!

Watching: Who else liked Fuller House?! I really did! Also the PLL finale is tonight!! Ah! I am so excited!! 

Drinking: One of the Mom’s in our playgroup just told me about Chick fil a “Frosted Coffee” I am DYING to try it! Anyone else obsessing over these? 
Eating:  These enchilladas are the bomb (do people still say that? Probably not!) Try them!

Praying: For so many loved ones! Also praying our house sells quickly… SURPRISE….we JUST put it on the market…hence be being a bit MIA recently! 

Listening to: Oldies! I am loving the Eagles Pandora station! I know I am a 60 year old!

Working on:  Prepping for Easter! Also still knocking out birthday projects for little ones! 

Looking Forward to:  

Easter will be fun and of course seeing all the fun birthday stuff for Hal come together into a fun party! She’s going to go berserk!

Okay, I did it! I bought an Irma and some leggings from Lularoe and I want to live in them…they are the SOFTEST clothes I have ever warn! I need so many more! So I am having a party soon! Another reason I am so excited for H’s birthday is so that I can see her in this darling dress from FunUptownGirls! It’s too precious for words!
