Christmas with Purple Moments Photography
I love that Larissa has been there since Hallie was itty bitty to capture all of her special moments! First Christmas, First Birthday and so on! This years Christmas Photos with Purple Moments Photography were no exception.
My Mom saved some of my baby clothes and gave them to me when we found out that she was a girl. One of the things she saved was a darling Christmas dress that I was so excited that Hallie would fit in this year! Around October I tried it on her just to be safe! Thank Goodness I checked because, GIRLFRIEND IS TALL!! So much taller than I was at this age! Luckily if you look at it from the front only it worked for a photo or two, so I called up Larissa and made sure it was okay if we included it in our Christmas photo session and I quickly found a Christmas dress that would work for the rest of our Christmas festivities!
I just LOVE how the photos turned out! Larissa is just so amazing and I am so thankful for her and the special moments she has captured for us!
The dress looks so precious on Hallie!
And of course so is the dress we picked out from This and That For Kids
I couldn’t be happier with these special photos! And as an added treat, I leave you with this sweet comparison!

Christmas Pajama Party
Hallie and I have been having a lot of fun preparing for Christmas! And with this new sweet Christmas gift for Mommy (hello new backdrop) I thought I would try my hand at some Pajama party photos in Hallie’s Christmas PJs from her Memi!
Now I am totally an armature and will for SURE continue to use my 2 favorite photographers for all our important Holiday/Birthday/Mommy and Me photos, but I do like the idea of learning how to use my camera, and this was step one in the process…enjoy!
Now to learn how to edit!
Any tips?

Holiday Treats
Hello Friends,
I know it’s been a while. I went from working pretty heavily on Socklings to distancing myself from the brand for personal reasons, Now I’m back here and ready to blog!
For my first post back, I thought I would share the delicious treats Hallie and I have been baking!
This time of year is so fun now that Hallie is old enough to really help and get excited about all the Christmasy To-dos!
We of course have had so many requests for the special Linzer cookies, that I have been making batch after batch of them. You can find the recipe here! They really make the perfect Holiday treat!
If jam isn’t your jam, Hallie and I also created these DELECTABLE Brownie Bites, that were really a hit!
INGREDIENTS:
1 package of boxed brownies (prepared according to package)
2 1/2 bags of milk chocolate chips
Sprinkles
DIRECTIONS:
Prepare brownies according to directions on box and let slightly cool.
While still warm crumble brownies into a bowl.
melt 1 bag of chocolate chips in a large measuring cup/ bowl slowly. (I do 30 seconds at a time stirring after each time until completely melted)
Once melted completely, stir into brownie mix and refrigerate for 30 minutes,
Once cold, form balls of dough into bite size pieces. Refrigerate again while preparing chocolate dip.
Melt the remaining chocolate chips using the same method as before.
Once completely melted, dip the brownie bites into the melted chocolate dip until completely covered. Tap side of the bowl after each dip to remove excess chocolate. Drop onto plate. Repeat until all covered in chocolate and top with sprinkles.
These were so easy and so delicious!
What are your favorite holiday treats?

Princess Hair
I was so excited to find out I was having a girl! Immediately my dreams of having tea parties and buying dresses seemed more of a reality as soon as the technician said “It’s a girl”. I couldn’t stop thinking of all of the fun girly things I did as a child that now I would get to do with Hallie! One of the things I have been waiting to do with Hallie is use sponge curlers in her hair!
So Imagine my surprise when Hallie realized at 2, that she “Didn’t have princess hair” and wanted to know how we could “fix it!” A few weeks ago, Hallie saw a photo on instagram of a little girl with sponge curlers in her hair, and I decided it was time to introduce Hallie to the magic of “Overnight Curls”
To my surprise after bath last night, Hallie sat very still and let me put the curlers in!
We got the curlers in in record time, however Mommy probably needs to look up some tips on where and how to place them for next time. Hallie did feel incredibly special in her curlers before bed though. It was pretty cute watching her run around in them letting them bob up and down!
Now getting her to sleep was a lot harder than I expected! She kept saying “I can’t lay my head down!” but she didn’t want to take the curlers out because she desperately wanted “Princess Hair” She finally passed out on me around 9:30 and I moved her to her crib.
She was so excited to wake up and take the curlers out this morning! Like I said, Mommy needs a little practice, but they did turn out pretty adorable! And every time she sees herself in a mirror, she says “Oooh a Princess!”

Noah’s Bandage Project
Did you know that September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month? Did you know that only 4% of cancer research budget goes to Pediatric Cancer? I didn’t until I received an email from a fellow blogger telling me about something called Noah’s Bandage Project.
Noah was a little boy who lived in the Kansas City area with his family. A year ago Noah went to Heaven. Before this strong little boy became an angel he started something pretty amazing at the tender age of 6. Noah’s Bandage Project. Here’s a quick background on Noah that I received from his family’s neighbor who is helping to keep this project going:
“While going through his own treatment, he quickly realized how un-cool it was to just have the boring skin colored bandages all over his body with all the pricks and pokes that comes with treatment for pediatric cancer. If he felt that way, he knew other kids did too. He started a drive to collect fun bandaids (that all our kids love) and distributed them to other kids at Children’s Mercy Hospital in downtown KC. What started as a small drive, turned into something much bigger. The KC Royal’s got involved, the KC news, etc. While he did end up passing away in June 2015, his family and friends are working hard to ensure this amazing project lives on.”
Now while my own daughter, oddly hates having band-aids, stickers, tattoos, etc stuck to her skin, I know she is not in the majority. I also couldn’t pass up an opportunity to teach Hallie about giving to other’s in need.
So this month on one of our weekly Target trips, I explained to Hallie that not all kids are as healthy as her. That sadly some of them had to spend a lot of time in the hospital. I explained to her about little Noah, and told her what he wanted to do for kids like him. I told her to choose 2 boxes of bandages to send to these sweet kiddos. She gladly chose Princess and Finding Dory Band-aids!
When we got home I told Hallie to make a little picture to include with our package for Noah’s Mom. She eagerly colored a stickered (as long as they aren’t on her skin, this kid LOVES stickers) a sweet note for Deb, Noah’s mom and we sent out our band-aids!
Hallie and I had a great time with this project. I feel that it is so important to teach kids even as young as Hallie to give back to others. This was such a fun and sweet project to be a part of, and I can’t wait to do it again next year!
