Must Have Monday: Infant Fashion

August 12, 2014

Today was my first day back at work, and I am super super exhausted, but I promise to update a little on that later in the week!

For now, It is Must Have Monday and I thought I would share some of our favorite recent outfits of Hallie’s!

This first outfit I just love on her because of the color! This royal blue really brings out her eyes which I swear are getting bluer and bluer by the day.  This is an adorable Carter’s outfit, which I believe is no longer available, but here is a similar one.

Here is the sweet outfit that Hallie sported to our little BBQ yesterday,  It’s a denim jumper with a cute hot pink flower and matching sweater, so Sweet.  You can find it on sale here!

This is by far the outfit I am most obsessed with right now! This is the adorable Puppy Dress that Hallie wore to her first time at Church over the weekend! It is so sweet and can be found here.We hope everyone had a fabulous Monday! Will update about our first day back soon!!!

New Car and Weekend Fun!

August 10, 2014

Hello Ladies and Gents, I trust you have all had/are having a great weekend! Our weekend has been super fun and super busy!!!

Friday:
I go back to work on Monday, and for those of you who don’t know I am a nanny to 3 adorable little girls.
(here is their picture holding Hallie)

I am lucky enough to take Hallie to work with me, but since she is joining our little clan, plus all the things that come with taking care of an infant, my little Corolla just wasn’t going to cut it anymore.
So Friday morning, Joyce was so kind to come over to stay with Hallie (Ah! First time both Daddy and I were away from baby!) while Christopher and I went out to purchase a new car!

Here is my cute new Mommy Car! A Chevy Equinox! (Thanks Honey!)

Saturday:

My mother in law came in from Houston to visit with Hallie! It is so hard with her being far away! We miss her every day, but enjoyed shopping and even had a “Make your own Pizza Party” at Christopher’s Dad’s house for dinner with his parents and brother and sister in law! I am kicking myself for not getting  any pictures!

Sunday/Today:
It was Hallie’s very first time at Church! We were so excited to go back, and Hallie was so good!

Tonight we are having some friends over for a little BBQ.  Christopher has been itching to make a BBQ brisket since Hallie was born, so today is the day!  He has been working on it since early this morning! Pictures to come later! I have an adorable outfit picked out for Hallie to wear for the occasion!

I hope everyone had as great of a weekend as we did, and tune in tomorrow for Must Have Monday!

Hallie’s First Pool Party!

August 7, 2014

Hallie is so lucky to have so many people to love her! My best friend Joyce and her whole family has always been so welcoming and treated me just like part of their family! So when little Hallie came around, they were super excited and treat her just like a niece/granddaughter/cousin!

Today, Joyce’s cousin and her 2 adorable girls were in town, so the family all gathered at Joyce’s parent’s house for a fun pool party, and Hallie and I were so lucky to be included!!  This was Hallie’s first pool experience!

Here she is before swimming!

Hallie wearing Mommy’s swim suit from when I was little

Silly baby passed out before getting in the water

Posing with Mommy anyway 🙂

In the pool…she seriously slept the whole time! It was like bath water! Nice and warm!

All snuggled up in Mommy’s towel after the pool!

All in all, Hallie said the pool party was A-Okay!

It was so fun seeing all of Joyce’s family! Hallie loved them all and enjoyed being passed around and getting lots of snuggles! 🙂

Hope everyone had a great Hump Day!

The Many Faces of Hallie: Dance Edition

August 5, 2014

For those of you who don’t know, I was a dancer growing up. Ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical…I’ve done it all.  So you can understand how proud I was when my 6 week old daughter started busting her first dance moves….

Here we have little Hallie, showing us all how to do the sprinkler!

Proud Momma here guys! Proud Momma!

Must have Monday!

August 4, 2014

As a new mom, there are plenty of products I can’t live without, and a few that I am just happy to have found! Here are some of our favorites!
For Hallie:
Kate Quinn Organics Receiving Blanket
Hallie is a big fan of being swaddled, but many of the blankets we have found are either too short and she busts out of the swaddle with her long legs too quickly. Or long, but too thin and she gets cold too easily.  This receiving blanket by Kate Quinn Organics has been the only blanket that I have found that is an exception to these two rules.  It is super soft and Hallie LOVES it, can you tell?!

Nylon Headbands
I am sure every other girl mom can relate to this: but without fail anytime Hallie and I are out and about without a bow or headband on her cute little head, someone will stop and ask me if she is a boy or a girl?! Never mind she is wearing pink! These headbands have become my favorite because they are nice and simple and come in a variety of colors. There are a ton of Etsy shops that carry them, but this one had a nice variety pack!

For Mommy:

Gillian & O’Malley Nursing Bras
I am exclusively pumping for Hallie and these nursing bras have been terrific! Especially for my (now only 1!) middle of the night pumps.  They easily unhook and drop in the front so you can nurse or pump without having to completely undress in the front!

Child’s Name Necklace:

This is by far my favorite product right now! I love having Hallie’s name around my neck! Especially when I go somewhere without her, it makes me still feel close to her! This little gem I found on Etsy and it arrived just in time for me to wear to the hospital the next day for Hallie to make her arrival.  (If you haven’t heard Hallie’s birth story, you can do so Here)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday and a terrific week! If you have any products you love, feel free to share them with me! 🙂

6 weeks and weekend fun!

August 3, 2014

We had such a fun weekend! Of course our weekend started Thursday night when my girlfriend Callie and her little boy Aiden came in from Houston to meet Hallie!

Aiden and Hallie in their Pjs!

On Friday we did some Shopping.  Both kiddos fell asleep on the way back to the house.  It was so cute!
We also went to In and Out Burger for dinner!
Then it was time for a Mommy date to the Cheesecake Factory! It was delicious and lots of fun, but I sure missed my baby girl!!!
Saturday morning we took the kids to breakfast and to see where their Mommies (and Daddy in Hallie’s case) went to High School! Aiden was so excited because he had been super obsessed with this Lip Dub taken at our school.
Sadly our friends had to leave yesterday afternoon, so we have just been hanging around the house today.  My sweet cousin dropped by to meet Hallie.
I can’t believe my baby girl is 6 weeks old already! Here are a few pictures of our 6 week “photo shoot”

This is our last week of maternity leave before Hallie and I go back to work!  I am so lucky I get to bring her!
Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

One Month Old!

July 28, 2014

Hallie is officially one month old! (Actually 5 weeks and counting!)

We are finally out of our preemie clothes! Granted not a ton of our newborn clothes are fitting just yet.  Many of the onesies are still too big, but we have found that the Carters brand onesies and outfits fit great! So do the Koala Baby clothes from Babies R Us Actually Hallie is quite the little fashionista!

This one is one of our favorites and it is on sale now here.

And this one, available here

Pants available here

Hallie is sleeping longer and eating more! My guess is she is about 6.5-7 lbs now! She is super skinny and long which is why she doesn’t quite fill out a lot of the newborn onesies. Will update on weight when we go back to the pediatrician next month!

I am enjoying watching her grow every day!  We are practicing our smiles and our big eyes are getting more blue every day!! She is also starting to follow objects and grasp at different things!

Will continue to update as she grows and changes!

Until then, Happy Monday!

Miss Hallie Anne

July 9, 2014

I have never been more in love in my entire life! Hallie Anne Mock came into our lives on Saturday June 21st at 12:15 p.m. weighing in at a whopping 4 lb 15 oz and measuring 17 1/2 inches long, and life has been perfect ever since.

Now, our story about how she got here…that’s a little crazy!

Friday the 20th, I leave work early hoping to grab something quick to eat on my way to meet Christopher (on his lunch break) for our scheduled sonogram.  Unfortunately traffic made me skip lunch and get to our sono just in time.
The tech took us back to look at the baby’s heart which had measured a bit big on our last visit the week before.  The heart though measuring just fine still appeared larger and our stubborn little Hallie refused to practice her breathing while we watched her for 30 minutes!
Finally we go to see the Dr. who informed us that with those two things and the fact that she seemed not to be growing much inside me anymore, that she would rather see her from the outside than the inside and sent us upstairs to labor and delivery to prep me for a C-section.
So many things were going through my head! I was panicked! I didn’t have my hospital bag, Christopher was still on the clock at work, I still had 3 weeks left with my girls before maternity leave, who was going to take care of Stella, Hallie’s room wasn’t even close to finished, my house was a wreck….
Christopher and I made a few calls to our bosses, our parents, and to Joyce who was kind enough to take care of the dog and bring up my hospital bag.
Once we got upstairs the Dr. asked how we felt about this emergency C-section and we both told her that we would rather have a natural birth if we could do it safely! She agreed to watch the baby on a heart monitor for a few hours and if all looked good, we could have her naturally. Unfortunately this meant that I had to wait to eat! By this point it was nearing dinner time and I still hadn’t had lunch!
Around 7 pm I was cleared to try and have Hallie naturally and was allowed to order my last meal!  After dinner, they gave me a drug to speed things along overnight! Heavy contractions started around 1 am and
finally in the morning around 6 a.m. I was able to get the Pitocin and an epidural!
6 hours later our baby girl arrived with a full head of hair and the most beautiful little face I have ever seen!
Now 2 weeks later our tiny princess is 5 lbs 7.5 oz and ALMOST out of her preemie clothes! We are in this weird limbo stage because she is so long, so her preemie PJ’s are getting snug, but her newborn ones still swim on her! Aside from that, we are all doing great! Hallie is a great sleeper and a very happy baby!
Can’t wait to watch her change and grow! I am loving mommy life!

36 Weeks

June 15, 2014

Alright you guys, things are getting real! We went to the Dr. on Thursday and she says baby girl is still really small! 10th percentile. I think about 4lb 10 oz…
She also said that she doesn’t see us getting to our due date! So we should have a baby in our arms sometime within the next 2-3 weeks! I can’t believe it! We have SO much to do before she gets here! We go back on Friday to find out more, but we will probably pick our induction date!

Yesterday Jennifer, Joyce and her mom gave us the sweetest little shower! It was so precious, ballet themed! Everything was so perfect! Hallie and I are so blessed! Thanks to all for all their hard work and for making the day so special for me!

Today we will celebrate Father’s Day! I am blessed to have 3 great Dads to celebrate! Christopher is going to be such an amazing Father! He has been wonderful already! He hasn’t missed a single appointment, and he is always so helpful when it comes to preparing for our little girl’s arrival! <3
                                            How far along: 36 weeks!
Gender: GIRL!!! Little Hallie Anne! 🙂
Weight gain:26 lbs! OMG! I feel like a cow!
Maternity clothes: Maternity Jeans, lots of leggings and dresses, and a size up in most of my T’s!
Stretch marks: None yet, thank goodness! Hoping to be one of those lucky few!
Belly button in or out: In….but starting to protrude a bit
Sleep: I write this at 3:30 a.m. Up with baby girl due to back pain…
Best moment this week: My last baby shower and planning Father’s Day surprises for Christopher!
Worst moment this week: Starting to have some contractions..ouch!
Miss anything: Beach Club, feta, chocolate, coffee, wine, sleep, not being fat…
Movement: Yes! Hallie loves music and my new trick is to play a song for her with my phone on my belly and watch her dance!
Cravings: Snow cones, popsicles, slushies and coffee ice cream!
Queasy or sick: Back pain and some braxton hicks!
Looking forward to: Our next appointment is FRIDAY! Also finishing baby’s room!
