eShakti Review
Good morning Momma’s! Who here feels different after having a baby raise your hand? (My hand is high in the air!)
It’s not that I still have a TON of weight to lose, but mostly that my clothes fit differently and I am not nearly as comfortable in them as I was. I can go to the store and buy new clothes, but I never feel like I am one specific size. Anyone else feel like that? I have long legs, big hips, no butt, and a small waist with leftover skin from where Hallie parked her cute little behind for 9 months!
So you’ll understand how OVER THE MOON I was to hear about eShakti!
eShakti is an online boutique where you can pick ANY dress, pants, shirt, skirt and customize it to fit your body perfectly! No, I’m not kidding! Need a hem a little longer? They can do it! Don’t like that neckline, fix it! Seriously it is the best thing ever! When I was approached to review one of their dresses I nearly exploded with excitement!
The ordering process was easy! (Aside from picking a style, there are so many great things to choose) It got here so quickly, and the best part…Check out the fit of this dress…it’s like it was specifically made for me! (OH WAIT, It was!)

I can’t wait until next year! I bet Hallie will really enjoy the pumpkin patch then! We did pick 3 pumpkins by the way, I don’t know why it never occurred to me to get a picture of Hallie with
them, or even a picture of them at all for that matter! I’m going to blame this one on Mommy brain!
We got a Daddy sized one, a Mommy sized on and a baby sized one! I will definitely get their picture before cutting them open! Promise!
Also stay tuned, the finishing touches went onto my costume last night!
Hallie and I are officially ready! Bring on HALLOWEEN!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Good morning friends! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! If you are an avid reader of my blog, than you know I made a huge change over the weekend! On Saturday I cut 8 inches off of my hair to donate in honor of my mother to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths.
If you haven’t read about my Mom’s journey, you can do so here: http://initforthelonghaulbarb.blogspot.com/
I knew when my parents sat me down a few month’s before my wedding and told me that my mother’s cancer had returned, that I wanted to donate my hair. So I started growing it just a few months after our wedding and finally now, it was long enough! Thank goodness by the way, because this 4 month’s postpartum shed has been driving me insane! Momma’s, can I get an Amen?
I made an appointment with my stylist, Tiffany with Shears To You and My parent’s came with me to watch the change (okay, my Dad mainly came to hold the baby, he’s not a fan of the short hair thing!) But I was so happy to have my Mom there! It really meant a lot!
Here are the pictures of my transformation:
Oh hey, Friday Pics from the week 4th edition
The Many Faces of Hallie: Too Loud!
4 months of Hallie Anne
- Age- 4 months!
- Weight- 10 lb. 2 oz! Finally double digits and finally bigger than her Daddy was when he was born!
- Length- 23 inches! She is a long skinny girl!
- Size- We are still in newborn diapers and mostly newborn onesies. I have been putting some of the 3 month pants on her because of her length, but usually they are a bit big in the waist! She is just sooo skinny! Now with her PJs, I just pulled out a lot of the 0-3 and 3 month ones for her length! She is just so LONG!
- Eyes- Still blue! I hope they stay blue! They are just darling! BIG BLUE inquisitive eyes!
- Hair- Brown, but seems to be getting lighter. She also has her Daddy’s cowlick!
- Sleeping- 10-12 hour stretches at night! (Generally 7pm to 6 or 7 am) Usually takes 3 small naps during the day!
- Eating- Aside from the night we still eat every 3 hours. She is on formula and takes 3-4 ounces at a time. The Dr said that she can start rice cereal as soon as she finishes her formula switch (we are switching to a more sensitive one) so updates on that to come!
- Milestones- We have rolled! Several times from belly to back! She is getting VERY close at back to belly, but hasn’t quite made it over yet! I also swear this girl is trying to figure out the crawling thing! She is getting really good at practicing sitting! She will also try to pull herself to a standing position when she is i my lap! She is babbling more and more, and putting every toy she sees straight in her mouth! If she doesn’t have a toy she will just shove her whole fist in there! Teething soon maybe?
- Memorable outings- Storyime/playgroup, Babies R Us Halloween, Seeing Sarah, etc.
- Favorite toys/activities- Still loves ceiling fans and mirrors, Hello Kitty Blocks, Owl rattle, Dolly, rings, Firefly, Very Hungry Caterpillar, etc. Loves books! A girl after my own heart! We read before bed every night! Also loves the rhymes we do at story time! Particularly (Tick Tock, Horse named Ron and Patty Cake!) Loves to play with Stella
- Words/sounds- Imitating sounds a little. Has started saying “Ooh Ooh” to herself usually in the mirror or sometimes to her BFF the ceiling fan!
- Nicknames- I call her sweet pea, peanut, sweet girl or Hal…Daddy likes to call her Daniel son when I put headbands on her…but other than that sticks to a generic sweetie or cutie!
- Funny moments- She sticks her tongue out almost all the time now! It’s hard to catch a picture of her smiling because it usually involves a tongue hanging out too! lol Yay for upcoming Christmas pictures! Also have you seen this adorable video of her playing with Stella
- Looking forward to- Each and every moment! I can’t wait for Halloween and even more excited to see her little face light up at Christmas! I know she’s going to love all the decorations!
Countdown to Halloween Week 3! 100th post!
Linking up today with Sweet Turtle Soup:
Well well well! We are getting very close to Halloween, which also means you are getting closer to seeing the greatness that is mine and Hallie’s Halloween costume!
In the mean time however, I thought I would share with you my plan for next week! Not only does Hallie have an adorable Halloween costume, but she also has a surplus of Halloween outfits!
Starting Friday, Hallie will wear a new Halloween outfit every day for a week until Halloween Day when she will wear her adorable costume! Here are our other outfits!
Currently:October
Hope everyone had a terrific weekend! We sure did here! Lots of family time, and Hallie got to see her Pop and Great Aunt Mary this weekend which was great!

It’s been a while since I did a “Currently” update for me, so without further adieu:
Reading: Right now I am about 3/4 of the way done with Lauren Graham’s book: Someday, Someday, Maybe. It’s about a young girl who gives herself a 3 year deadline to make it as an actress in New York. The book chronicles the last 6 months of the deadline. It is SO Lauren Graham, lighthearted and witty. A perfect breezy book after a long day! ALMOST done though, so please give me some suggestions while I am on the wait list at the Library for Sophie Kinsella’s new Shopaholic!
Watching: What am I not watching! Lol, I seriously need to cut back! Aside from binging on Gilmore Girls on Netflix, I am watching: Big Bang Theory, Project Runway, A-Z, (Awaiting the Pretty Little Liars Special tomorrow), Last Man Standing, Shark Tank, and Parenthood ! Who else is excited to see who wins Project Runway this week!?! It’s sooo going to be Kini, right!?
Working on: Compiling a Christmas shopping list! Seriously it’s not that far away, 65 days you guys!! Holy Cow! Also working on the final touches to my Halloween costume! And who isn’t in a continuous cycle to keep their house clean?! OMG! I feel like a tornado hits it every day and I have to clean up the wreckage every morning!
Looking Forward to: Halloween and Christmas! I just love this time of year! Also tomorrow we go for Hallie’s 4 month appointment (SERIOUSLY? Can she be four months already?!) and I am anxious to see how big she has gotten! Any guesses on her weight?! She was 9 lb 4 oz (with clothes on) at 3 months.

Loving: Pumpkin Pie Spice Creamer in my coffee, Halloween decorations, and of course Gilmore Girls on Netflix!
What has everyone else been up to?!

Oh hey, Friday! Pics from the week (3rd Edition)
Gooood Morning and Happy Friday! I am happy to say, this week passed very quickly! Something about an extra day tacked onto the weekend makes the week fly! Ps, thank you to everyone for all of the sweet comments and prayers on yesterday’s post. My friend was very touched.
This weekend is going to be VERY relaxing for me!
Tonight- Is a pizza and Gilmore’s binge at the Mock house! Hopefully Joyce will come join, because it’s just the Mock girls tonight, Daddy has to work late 🙁
Tomorrow- Hallie and I are going to the Babies R Us Halloween Event with Luna and Larissa! Have you heard about this? Check it out. (Sorry we won’t be posting pictures! The suspense of Hallie’s Hallie-ween costume will have to keep you on your toes a bit longer!)
After the event, we just have some running around to do: Finalizing Mommy’s Halloween costume, grocery shopping, etc.)
When Daddy gets home, he and Hallie have a Daddy/Daughter date night planned and Larissa and I are going to duck out for drinks a dessert! (Was it just me or was that a lot of D’s! Ha!)
Sunday- Will be a Church and family day. Looking forward to this more than anything! We need some good family down time!
Now, Onto Oh hey Friday business! Go link up with September Farm! Here are my pics from the week:
1. Tuesday at our Mom’s meetup
2. Wednesday at Storytime (Love how Hallie is the teeniest little thing on the end and Luna is crawling away in the middle! lol)
3. New clothes from Nana and Bapa
4. Play time with Mommy (Something very exciting happened this week! Hallie rolled belly to back 2 times! We are waiting with the camera at EVERY play time to see if she will do it again!)
5. Silly Snuggle time with Mommy before bed…is this seriously the same kid that wore that same teeny crown in her newborn pictures…It cannot be!
