The Many Faces of Hallie- The Captain

April 23, 2015

It’s been a while since we have done a “Many Faces of Hallie Post”, but when my husband discovered Hallie’s “Lateral Captain Face” I just had to post it!

In case you are not already a How I Met Your Mother Fan, her is an explanation of “The Captain Face”

(Excuse the crappy YouTube quality, but hey, you get the theory now right? Okay Here is Hallie’s “Lateral Captain Face”

Left Side- Happy as a clam

Right side- All kinds of mad!
I laughed so hard when my husband discovered this I just HAD to share!
Hope everyone has a great Thursday!
Feel free to check out some more “Many Faces of Hallie” posts:

10 months of Hallie Anne

April 22, 2015

10 months already?! No I cannot allow this!
Age- 10 months! (Double digits?! Too soon! Too soon!)
  • Weight-  14 1/2 lbish (its only a guess…no weight check this month)
  • Length- 27 1/2 inches.. (also a guess…but she is looking extra tall these days!)
  • Size- Size 1 and 2 Diapers! We use 2’s at night. Onesies- 3 month or 3-6 Months Ts! Granted she still has a few 0-3 month ones that fit as well.  Pants- the waist on the 3-6 month are too big, but the length on the 3’s are too small…LIMBO!  PJs 6 month
  • Eyes- Still blue! Some days they look a little gray or even greenish, but outside they look really blue!
  • Hair- Getting longer and lighter each month! Right now it’s light brown.
  • Sleeping- Usually 11 hours. About 2 naps a day. Though last few nights were oddly terrible!
  • Eating- 18 oz a day and 3 meals. She will eat just about everything too! Loves yogurt, pasta, bread, rice, chicken, veggies, avocado, turkey, berries and puffs! The kid even ate calamari on Easter!
  • Milestones- Giving kisses. Trying to walk and can stand for a few seconds before chickening out! Clapping! Waving! Loves singing and dancing. Still no teeth!
  • Words she can say: Hi, Hey, Mama, Dada, Bye Bye and “tella”- Which means “Stella” because she will shout it at the dog! Or any dog for that matter! she also sometimes says “Pup”, “Ba-ba”, “night night” and Yay!
  •  Memorable outings/holidays- Easter, Tia Joyce’s birthday, First Crawfish boil, and playgroup
  • Favorite toys/activities- Peek-a-boo! She actually learned to do it herself! She will hide her face in the couch until we say “where’s Hallie?” then she pops her head up! It’s the cutest thing you’ve ever seen! Clapping and waving at everything! Prayer Bunny which we call Luna bunny. Dollies and stuffies!  Also: Puppets, especially Kermit! Things that aren’t toys…hairbrush, bottles, tupperware! She loves books! A girl after my own heart! We read before bed every night!  Also loves the rhymes we do at story time! Particularly (Tick Tock,Horse named Ron and Patty Cake!) Loves to play with Stella.  DANCING! She loves to shake it! Especially with Daddy! She also really enjoys listening to music. WALKING with help! Seriously it makes her sooo happy! Loves dressing up! Beads and shoes! She is SUCH a social butterfly and loves to play with her friends!
  • Nicknames- I call her sweet pea, peanut, peanut butter, sweet girl or Hal…Daddy likes to call her Daniel son when I put headbands on her…but other than that sticks to a generic sweetie or cutie!
  • Funny moments- When she is ready to leave somewhere she starts waving..if that doesn’t work she’ll scream “Bye!” also one night when she was ready for bed she crawled over to Christopher and smacked him between the eyes and yelled “night night!”
  • Looking forward to- Cherishing the rest of this first year! It has just flown by!

Baby Kisses

April 21, 2015

Hallie started doing the cutest thing ever! She has been giving us those glorious open mouth kisses for a while now! She is pretty stingy with them though, and won’t usually give them on command, but are adorable nonetheless. Recently however, this little Momma started giving kisses to her baby dollies! It seriously is the most adorable thing I have ever seen!

It amazes me how much she absorbs and learns! She is just growing up too fast! My baby is 10 months old today. I’ll make sure to post an update tomorrow! But for now Happy Tuesday and enjoy those sweet baby kiss pictures!

Joyce’s 28th!

April 20, 2015

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Our weekend had its ups and downs, with a super cranky baby on Saturday. Seriously! Hallie has never ever had a full day of crankiness ever until this weekend, so I was in completely new territory! I didn’t know how to deal and ended up crying most of the day and binging on Chinese Food in the evening with my best pal Joyce! Joyce was nice enough to sit with Hallie for a few minutes so I could pick up the food and get a few minutes of sanity!

Speaking of Joyce, she had a birthday last week, and on Friday night, her parent’s took some of her closest family and friends to dinner at Dough Pizzeria to celebrate! It was a such a blast and Hallie was in Heaven because pizza is her favorite food ever!

Me and the birthday girl!

Joyce’s Mom and I always plan a ridiculously amazing cake for her! This year a panda!

Complete with Candy sushi that I hand crafted!
Joyce, with boyfriend Jay and his parents! (and a photobombing 1 shoe Hallie)

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Crock Pot Chicken Chili

April 16, 2015

Every once in a while I get a recipe that is just so delicious that I HAVE to share it! Last night’s Crock Pot Chicken Chili is that recipe! It is so simple and it was one of the tastiest recipes I have tried recently!

Ingredients:
3 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
1 Package of frozen corn
1 yellow onion chopped
1 Can of black beans
1 Can of kidney beans
1 small can of tomato sauce
1 can of Rotel tomatoes (I use the HOT)
1 small can of diced green chilis
1 packet of taco seasoning
(Topping choices: Tortilla, cheese, avocado or french fried onions)

Place chicken in crock pot and pour over half of the taco seasoning. Then dump the remaining ingredients over the chicken topping with the rest of the taco seasoning and stir,

Cook on high in crock pot for 5 1/2 hours. At 5 hours shred the chicken and stir, then replace lid for remaining 30 minutes! Enjoy! (Like I said we used the Hot rote, tomatoes, so you might want to add some salt and pepper to taste)

I am always looking for a good easy recipe to try, if you have any, send them my way!

If you need me

April 15, 2015

I had a ton of things planned this morning.  Hallie went to bed late,  so I just knew she would sleep in!  I was going to drink my coffee and blog, shower and do the dishes all before Hallie got up for the day. But 5 minutes before my alarm I heard my girl crying. When I went in her room she looked scared and wouldn’t let me put her back to sleep.  So I carried her back to bed with me and my fiercely independent girl snuggles right up to me and falls back to sleep.  She just needed her Momma.
So if you need me, I’ll be enjoying these rare moments!

Rainy Day

April 14, 2015

Yesterday was a very rainy day! Hallie and I were lucky because it was also a no work day for us, so we stayed in our sweats/pjs all day long!

We played and Hallie enjoyed looking out the window when the storm got really loud! (Luckily she wasn’t scared like the dog. Stella jumped in bed with me after one giant clap of thunder and didn’t move until I got up for the day)

We also enjoyed a picnic lunch of Turkey and cheese! Hallie thought it was the greatest thing ever to not to eat in her highchair, and I wasn’t worried about the mess because I was due to vacuum anyway!

It was a nice simple day. I wish more days were like that!

Happy Tuesday

Must Have Monday: Mother’s Day Ideas for this Mommy

April 13, 2015

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! We sure did!
With Mother’s Day around the corner I thought I would share some gift ideas that may help you out in your shopping or at least will give my husband and family ideas for me!

(Side note Hallie just looked at me like I was the best Mommy in the world because I turned on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for her so I could write this! We don’t watch a whole lot of TV, so she is jumping up and down excitedly and shaking her butt so hard to this Hot Dog song that I am trying not to crack up!)

Anyway, back to my gifting ideas:

1. “All out of” Note Pad– Mine is almost out of pages and this is the best invention ever! It is all categorized so that when you are shopping you don’t have to run around like a chicken with your head cut off through the store! I would be so happy to open this on Mother’s Day! It’s a weekly necessity at our house!

2.  Gilligan and O’Malley Pajamas- Let’s face it! When Hallie and I are home during the day, I don’t get out of sweats or PJs and mine are starting to look a little frumpy! These Gilligan and O’Malley ones are the softest ever! Definitely a fave of mine!

3. Gilligan and O’Malley Bathrobe- See above! lol! I could use a new robe for sure!

4. A soft Scarf Camera Strap– I LOVE my new camera! But the strap it came with is a little scratchy! I would swoon if I got one of these adorable straps!

5. A maid for a day– Seriously this might be the best gift ever! I would love for a maid service to come in and do a deep clean of my home! I can’t even begin to say how amazing it would feel to not have to clean for a day or so!

6. A mani/pedi/facial or massage- Okay for real, how many moms would turn down any of those things!? I could use a little pampering and R&R! Or really even just an hour alone to enjoy a cup of coffee!

Hope these were helpful to those looking for ideas for the Moms in their lives!

Oh hey,Friday! Pics from the week!

April 10, 2015

Nothing! That is what I have planned for this weekend, and it sounds amazing! Of course I do still have mommy duties: meal planning, grocery store, taking care of Hallie, but we have been on the go so much that I’m hoping to slow things down a bit and just relax!
Anyway, on to Oh hey, Friday! Linking up with September Farm
1.
This was the first outfit I bought for Hallie when I was pregnant! It’s a 3 month romper, and when she was born so teeny I never thought she’d be able to wear it! Thank goodness I held on to it! Who would have thought she’d fit into it 9 1/2 months later! PS the teeny shoes I bought to match, are still too big!
2.
Playing Mommy with my old baby doll! She actually smacked the baby quite a bit and twisted her arms a couple times, but gentle is a learned behavior, right?!
3.
Still hunting for eggs!

4.

I Love that she poses when she knows that I am going to take her picture! Such a little Model!
5.
That smile! It brightens my whole day!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
