Happily Ever Mock

Snowed…er iced in!

February 25, 2015

We have been iced in here in Dallas the last few days! Yes, here in Dallas we don’t get snow…just big sheets of black ice that make it unsafe to travel because we are Texans who have no idea how to travel in 1 inch of ice, so schools shut down and everyone hunkers down for days until there is no trace of it!
So Hallie and I have been cooped up all day for the last 2 days! (Daddy still had to work!)
Here is what we have been doing:

On Sunday, we knew the weather was coming so we prepared! Hallie and I played while Daddy was kind enough to make our favorite cold weather meal:

Tortilla Soup! Check out the recipe here!
Don’t be fooled friends…that is all ice!
Hallie and I have spent the last 2 days in PJs! Day One!
Day 2! Hallie had a bath Monday night and got in new PJs, which we stayed in all day yesterday!

That’s what snow ice days are for, right?!

Last night the roads were cleared up a little and when Christopher got home from work he treated us to dinner since we had been cooped up for so long! I think Hallie missed being out because she was babbling and talking to everyone who walked by!
Unfortunately more sleet fell overnight, so we are stuck in again today.  Trying to figure out what to do to make it fun! Any ideas Mommas?
Hope everyone is having a more exciting week than us!!
Take care!

Man I hate the ice storms. Especially when they are accompanied by mass power outages :(. One year we had no power for 9 days. It was TERRIBLE!

Stay safe, warm and I hope it clears up soon.

Glad you and Haille are enjoying play time inside, and that your hubby has been treating you to some yummy meals. I hope all that ice clears up for you soon.
