Hello all! How is the decorating, baking, wrapping and prepping for Christmas going on your end?!
I have to say I still have SO much to do! Normally by now I have the house completely decked out and at least 1/2 of our presents bought, wrapped and carefully placed beneath our tree! This year, with Hallie it is a whole new ball game! She keeps me so busy! On top of that, I have a cold that just will not go away!
Fortunately I did have time to make some Babies First Christmas Ornaments with her yesterday!
Salt Dough Hand print Ornament Recipe
Ingredients and Supplies:
1 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Salt
1/2 Cup Water
Cookie Sheet
Foil
Toothpick
Paint and Brushes
Modpodge
String
So first I mixed the dough. The flour and salt first and added the water to form dough. I made it into one ball first then separated it into 4 balls (it makes enough for 4 ornaments for baby hands)
I flattened each ball some so that Hallie’s hand would fit on it. Then pressed her hand into each to form a hand print. Then added a hole with toothpick for the string to go through.
Then I baked it covered at 400 for 20 minutes, then uncovered for another 3 (just so that it was slightly browned)
Once completely cooled I first traced her hand with the outside color of paint (in this case green)
Then I painted the Santa and then finished the outside.
Today I will add the string and the Date to the back with her name. Then modpodge it to seal!
Super easy and great for babies first Christmas!
Just make sure to store these inside when you put away your decorations!
Hope you are all enjoying the season!

I love that you made her ornament! I totally dropped the ball Mia's last 2 Christmas's (although, she was only 5 days old her first Christmas so I was still completely out of it) and didn't make 1 ornament 🙁 I should probably do one this year!!

I adore this! I tried the handprint ornament last year but used the cinnamon dough instead. It bested me sadly ha, but I still love it! I have plans for doing the salt dough this year.
